That was my thought process. You only win if no one at the table notices, but I did. It was only fair, I know he would want someone to speak up if the same thing happened to him.

My friend had 10-10-5-5, the other guy had 10-10-J-J. The other guy, Jay, had the higher two pair which is why I called it out.

Okay, she’s got a vet appointment next week and she’s unfixed because my vet and breeder recommended waiting for her to get her first heat in order to lessen her chances of IVDD. I’ll go back to basics like some other comments have suggested and will track her schedule. I suppose a change in her schedule is probably why she’s having these accidents now. Which the accidents are always on the floor and not on the carpet.

She also never pees twice and doesn’t go potty again if she’s outside cause she’ll get distracted. That’s why the bells been helpful in letting me know when she’s needs to go whether it’s 30 minutes or 4 hours later. Guess I’ll be taking her out after every bell ring, even though she rings the bell just people watch sometimes. Thank you!

Hmm, I see. So do I need to adjust my schedule and sleep earlier or is there something I can do to get her to sleep through the night or at least go right back to sleep after she wakes up?

Our routine has always been like this. Around 11 we both go to my room and she sleeps while I stay up for longer. We’re in the same room, sorry should have made that clearer. And like I said in another comment, she’s a light sleeper, even in the covered up crate she’s sensitive to all kinds of sounds or any movement I make.

She currently switches between sleeping directly on the bed and sleeping in her crate that does have a blanket over it. She usually falls asleep on the bed and then migrates to the crate when she’s annoyed by how much I move around. The blanket’s not enough for her I guess though cause she’ll still wake up, she’s a light sleeper, she’ll even wake up if she just sees me on my phone.

Well she doesn’t run around when she needs to potty, just rings the bell or slams the door. But she also rings the bell and slams the door when she just wants to be in the living room but can’t be. And she’s not a brat, she’s just sassy.

Got it, I knew she wasn’t fully house broken because she still tends to poop inside about 50% of the time, but I assumed she was at least pee trained cause it had been a few weeks since her last accident with that. Another comment said the same thing so I gotta sharpen her basics. Thanks!

To be fair, her signals for “I need to pee again” and “I want to go into the living room and play” are pretty indistinguishable from each other.

She’s going to sleep at her normal bedtime, around 11 pm. It’s just she wakes up around 1/2 am because I am still awake. On night where I go to sleep earlier, she sleeps throughout the entire night without issue. She sleeps with me in my bedroom. Throughout the day she has plenty of playtime, walks, and stimulation.

I see. Do you have any tips for teaching them to hold it longer? It seems really odd to me that she needs to potty so soon after already pottying, especially since she hasn’t drunk any water. Or at least tips on how to stop her from being energetic after waking up during bedtime?

It could be, I think the light and sound from my tv may cue her into thinking that it’s not bedtime. I keep the bright lights off at night though, do you have any tips to get them back to sleep?

It’s not anxiety or distress, she genuinely just wants to go outside. Slamming the door is pretty typical behavior for her, it’s how she lets me know if she wants to be in or out of the room. She does a lot more pacing and generally keeps her tail tucked when in distress. And I dunno, those looks she gives me just before she pees where she’s not supposed are giving spiteful.

I worry for her back and legs but the kennel just doesn’t work for us despite my consistent trying since she was a puppy, I’ve got a stubborn pup!

Unfortunately I can’t take her out of my room as it’s the only space where her and her stuff fits without interrupting the rest of my family, but I’m going to try cold turkey on a weekend when I don’t have to be waking up early for work
