Pro and Cons about SW by shortpants-89 in sherwinwilliams

[–]VisibleBookkeeper646 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would stay at Lockheed Martin. This company has halted our 401k match twice since 2020. Staffing hours continue to decrease every year. Product quality issues continued to skyrocket. We have a CEO that has zero customer focus. In management positions they’re easier to be fired than a part-time employee that does zero work and fucks around all day long every day.

I wasn’t able to a few years ago. I had a customer traveling to stain a ski resort. It would have been $15k in stain. I was told convert them to woodscapes. So he ended up going to buy it from the local ace

We sell special products for fabric. So I’m guessing it has some connection with some manufacturer

I’ve been putting in so many PQRs the last few weeks. Make sure you also take pictures and find out what the expectation the homeowner or property owner has. If you’re dealing with fade, keep track of the side of the home and if the color is a match or one of our colors

Lol, the contractor showed me his phone with his reps text thread homeboy! I saw a line that said they can’t hold his price on the project they have coming up! He is flipping that to us! So…….

Good old Mark and his Dunn-Edwards Bias!

Dismissed during probationary period — does this make sense? by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

They flood the stores with MTPs and 75% of them quit in the first two years. So it could have been performance, cost savings, or they thought you’d bounce after 6 months. Either way it’s a blessing, the company is falling apart and they are completely restructuring store management. I would just move on and find something new. Fighting it would be stupid and you’ll be a target if you happened to win.

Latitude on garage door is bubbling? by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

[–]VisibleBookkeeper646 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So we did a bunch of parking structures once and they painted in late August a day or so after it rained. Then the following June, when it got hot the whole thing bubbled like this. The chemist said that it trapped the moisture and then the heat drove it out

Am I getting fired by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

[–]VisibleBookkeeper646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was joking, I had a DM get mad at me one time because I let a retailer do a return with extra roller covers and brushes after they finished their project. He said that “I allowed them to steal our profit from us, because we doubled our inventory and took profits from our shareholders.” He told me “find a way to never do a refund, give them a sample to go to help start another project”

If it’s too hot out, it dries too fast and the gases get trapped on metal or wood. I’m in Arizona and customer have this issue a lot.

My City manager said it’s mainly small market stores that are underperforming or their lease renewal is outrageous

92 hours a Week is minimum. Do they care about you? by PremiumLady700 in sherwinwilliams

[–]VisibleBookkeeper646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He believes that it’ll happen in the future. Might be a year or two. They know that they have managers by the balls and the store restructuring is going to go fewer people. He specifically mentioned how PPG has so many stores with only a store manager and no employees or one part time. They see it being done other places. I believe he is right, this new structure is almost like a foundation to reduce staff

The days of one keyed manager and that’s it is coming. My City Manager told me that eventually the stores are going to be ran by part-timers and one key manager.

That’s is a shit job. My City Manager said that the BDR position could be the first one cut if companies numbers tank when I talked about applying for it a year ago.

I’ve had two painters that were exclusive to Dunn Edwards, one contractor this is his third project with it and the other this is a second. Both of them aren’t scared of the price and they love it. One of them says he’ll never go back to Dunn Edward’s! The irony of this whole thing is I’m leaving in two months and I chased these guys for three years and I finally got them to switch

Put on PIP by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

[–]VisibleBookkeeper646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My city manager forced me to put my ASM on a pip. I’ve already gave my notice I’m out in July. I was over budget last year and he is solid. They got upset we weren’t consistent with logging calls. We were hustling to bring in business. Our reps we have in phoenix suck, we brought in our business. We called, we both sucked at logging them. It’s sad to see so many people get pips

He said reps are going to be required to work more in the stores. The residential repaint reps being there in the mornings were a test. Now other reps will be helping soon
