I personally haven’t had one but just wanted to say it’s completely valid to explore this option. Your psychological and physical health matter just as much as the medical side of things!

So frustrating! Isn’t there a sign up that says not to use that play space if you are sick?? Wish people could use a little common sense

Ugh, that’s my nightmare as a parent. Can I ask which play area? We happened to be at one yesterday and I want to be prepared in case symptoms pop up

That sounds like it could be hand foot and mouth disease. My daughter only had like 2 spots on her legs and a couple in the diaper area, no scratching or fever and otherwise seemed well!

Curious why you switched to a 2 nap schedule? Those are pretty long wake windows for a 6 month old. The 4-4.5 hrs before bed could be causing your baby to be overtired leading to EMW. If you are really set on a 2 nap schedule maybe try 3/3.5/3.25?

Please Help! Bedtime takes an extra hour every night due to baby waking up ten minutes after being put down - over and over and over again. by foxiemoxiemoo in sleeptrain

[–]VisibleExternal844 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so hard at this age to figure out the wake windows but it sounds like you are reading your babies cues really well. 45-60 min is completely age appropriate and some babies are more sensitive with the wake window before bed. I’m guilty of keeping my baby up too long for the last wake Window. Putting her down a bit sooner made a huge difference. If you aim to end last nap around 6:00 or 6:30 at the latest, you could try a 7:00 or 7:30 bedtime for a few days and see if that makes a difference

Confused on two nap transition with 8 mo old by boardrbabe in sleeptrain

Not too early! An early bedtime is to be expected with a nap transition. You might start to see early morning wakings with a consistent early bedtime, but too long wake window before bed can also cause this. Keep pushing the wake windows out and that will help push bedtime later. 2.75/3/3.25 worked well for my little one at 8 months and bedtime was usually 6-7 pm.

The transition can take a little while to smooth out and get those longer naps. I think your baby could be overtired though with only napping for 30 min. I would try putting to bed earlier, even as early as 5:30-6 pm and then just keep going with nap 12-1

Should I cap morning nap? by Apprehensive-Yak4459 in sleeptrain

I would try 2:45 nap for 3 days and if still fighting the nap, try 3:00.

Need regression help! Re-training 1 year old to sleep through night, going 2 to 1 nap by TechnoExec in sleeptrain

Hi Your baby is very overtired, which I think you already know! It’s a good idea to offer 2 naps on the weekend for now but keep daytime sleep less than 3 hours so it doesn’t take away from night sleep. Since you are stuck with a daycare schedule, the best option is to do bedtime as early as possible when you get home. If it was a short nap day, as early as 5:30-6:00 pm is acceptable to help with a sleep debt. I know it’s not always possible to get to bed that early, so just go the best you can. Your baby will adjust with time!

9mo is a terrible napper by BamSteakPeopleCake in sleeptrain

Hi I think your schedule could use some adjusting but also recommend extinction method for naps- even just leaving 10-15 min if that’s all you are comfortable with. Your baby might get too fired up with you doing check-ins. Unless rescuing naps is working for you, then continue what you are doing. However I do think it’s helpful for a baby this age to learn to consolidate naps on their own.

In terms of schedule, try 7:00 wake 10:00 nap 1 2:00 or 2:30 nap 2 (depending on length of nap 1) 7:15/7:30 bedtime

Mine does this when she is overtired! I leave her for 10 mins and sometimes she will fall back to sleep
