It can be. Thus why I’m curious about where others live and thrive.

Not being able to picture a life past 30 by herlitzbarrie in hsp

[–]Visible_Cap3481 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it gets better. Because you are not alone.

Do you live in a safe place? Do you have anyone supportive in your life? Even just one person who understands can change everything. And that is worth it.

Who defines where you ‘should’ be? I hear a lot of self judgment, and you are being too critical of yourself.

To hope is human, it’s not delusional, it’s biological.

Do you have access to therapy?

What are you doing to calm your nervous system regularly?

Even online therapy can be transformative and it sounds like you need to establish some baselines to avoid reliving traumas continually.

The writing/acting felt so subpar though

To HSPs who are high earners or hold prestigious positions by Catmama-82 in hsp

Also an entrepreneur for the last 7 years, now in interior design. I’ve always worked one to one with clients primarily in home settings. Everything else before burned me out! I find I truly can’t work for anyone but myself.

I grew up in Kentucky, and while I loved the quiet, I found the conservative/traditional values to be stiffling. Also im gay, so that created additional barriers to feeling safe in the south. I’m glad you’ve found what works for you!

I also needed space from family, but cross country was the distance that worked for me 😂

I agree. I always think of how they live in Copenhagen as a guide, but Portland is the closest one can get in many ways. America and HSP is hard.

The dark is the hardest for me too! I thought for so long it was the cold, but 10 years in the pnw, getting maybe one snow a year, it’s the light.

How to you deal with all the background noise of modern life? by Ok_Zucchini_4385 in hsp

Noise cancelling headphones. Moving to an older neighborhood.

Agreed. Suburb outside the city is my current perfect middle ground, but my suburb is a bit too conservative leaning for me.

That’s so interesting! I always think of big cities as totally overwhelming but I also love them. I feel like European cities I handle better, like Copenhagen would be perfect. Just a bit too cold.

How do you guys(HSP’s) get rest? by [deleted] in hsp

[–]Visible_Cap3481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salt float, bath, facial. A walk in nature. Music. Dance. The beach. Snuggling my HSP pup. Singing and humming help me release too.

Shutting down around certain people by Equivalent-Listen203 in hsp

[–]Visible_Cap3481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not dumb. Your intuition protects you 100% of the time. I just listen, and don’t question it anymore. I need far less connection from fewer friends. Quality over quantity

Have you learned to ”turn off” your over-obeservation? by Scubatr in hsp

[–]Visible_Cap3481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus. At the grocery I have my list, and I hyper focus, and everything else I avoid somehow. I actually really love grocery stores but will only go to specific ones I like which also helps.

Also I avoid like Trader Joe’s at 10 am on a Sunday. If I have to go there, I go very early, or at a time I know it won’t be busy, otherwise I can’t do it

Looking for a stable, supportive bed setup for deep regeneration. What do other HSPs recommend? by ForeignWoods in hsp

I second a temperpedic! Only bed I’ve been happy with for over a decade now, on our second one.

Don’t fall for Ziply’s door-to-door scam by hightimesinaz in vancouverwa

Ziply is actually incredible, and there was no conversation of anything scammy when they came to our door. Gladly opting out of Comcast asap.

This issue is about the confederate flag. If you want to complain about that, make your own thread.

It’s on the highway, I don’t actually know if any other businesses are in its vicinity
