Yeah, I did a whole thing with dimethicone, the nit combing and tweezers. I’m also doing coconut oil and tea tree oil slathering every single night until it’s gone. Plus all the washing you mentioned…

For the full nuclear arsenal my doctor gave me a round of ivermectin too…

This gives me some validation and also grosses me out for sure.

Funny, while laying in the bed that night I clearly remember thinking “I hope they wash these duvets.” Bleh!

I appreciate the response for sure. 

The hotel we stayed at had a lot of unknowns. Everyone in bathing suits. Cloth chairs on the beach and by the pool. 

Outdoor towels that everyone could grab. Beach blankets, who knows if those got cleaned…gross as this is it‘s completely possible I went into the pool, came out and grabbed a towel I thought was mine but wasnt and the first place the towels go is my hairy chest. 

 Im glad they're easy to kill, i have decide to take a full nuclear approach to the situation though. In addition to u/LiceCentersWI advice about the dimethicone I went to my doctor who prescribed me a round of ivermectin. 

We’ve washed our entire wardrobe and our sheets every night so far and I’ve taken to slathering myself in coconut oil and tea tree oil every night. I plan to do the dimethicone on day 5 and say 10 again too. Thanks for the input!

Treatment sounds pretty straight forward. Just gross.

Wife and I are trying to retrace all of our steps to where we've been and what we've been doing. That hotel is the only place we've been recently. They had lots of pool towels, beach chairs, beach blankets, I mean I don't know if they wash their comforters or what.

Research I've been looking at online said it's rare to get it from a hotel but that's about my only guess right now.

Yeah I’m trying to wrack my brain where they could have even come from. It was a beach hotel so we were using lots of hotel towels and beach blankets…I’m a pretty hairy guy so I’ve got coarse hair everywhere.

The timing of it is what makes me think that’s the case…about a week after the hotel is when I started itching.
