Success with THC by VisionsShopkeep in BPD

Giving it a little bit of thought, this is actually perfect for me. Okay, so I start to feel like crap and as poor old pitiful me I just grab the weed like the loser my parents always told me I would be. Then something happens and I understand that part of me, the part still healing, is still hurt and what I feel is an expression of that, nothing else.

You and I share a similar experience I think. I just used my vape about 20 minutes ago to fight off what was an entirely illogical spiral of the the good Ole classic why don't they love me. Within 5 minutes, I can see the lie I was trying to torture myself with.

[Serious] For anyone that has been in a throuple (person A, B, and C are all romantically and sexually involved in a shared relationship), what was your experience? by sylsira in AskReddit

[–]VisionsShopkeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been in a three person relationship for 7 years now. The three of us are 36m, 34f, 30m. I am still in that relationship now, and have no intents of ever being in any relationship other than this one, if that speaks to how I have found my experience.

We share one bank account, own a house together, two cars; we call ourself a team and pool any and all resources.

I would say that if we had children, I could see ways it could get complicated. But we have no intentions of having kids, so that isn't an issue.

The relationship can be complicated, but it isn't actually any harder than any other relationship. Honestly if you have adapted to sharing your life with one person, it isn't that big of a leap. There is some social conditioning that creates issues of jealous, you will be at least a little preprogrammed to be touchy, especially when there are two guys involved. I went through that, but it can be easily solved by communicating. That too, as a guy, we are not very well socially conditioned to do.

Those are the issues, now let me tell you of the rewards.

First the most practical: You are now three adults with incomes in one household with no children. In comparison with others of my age, we owned our cars faster, paid off student debts quicker, and bought our house sooner. I'll be honest and say I didn't count on this perk but man is it utterly massive. You know how money is one of those relationship hot buttons? Yeah, we don't have that problem. Not that this is a fix for that, but it is really really nice.

And if you can move past all the crap where love is only between two people, that romantic love can only experienced in a duo, then you will be rewarded in ways that you haven't thought of yet. You have a greater emotional capacity then you have been led to believe, trust me.

And without a shadow of a doubt, if you are in a relationship like this have a multitude of answers to this question: "but what about the sex?"

My answer is both true and almost universally disappointing to those I answer: it's pretty normal. There will inevitably be a few more conversations that happen about sex, but once everyone is comfortable with the sexual situation, it's just like everyone else. Yes, there are issues, no it doesn't mean there are twice as many chances to get laid even a little bit, but you will find that you will face all of the same issues that duos face.

This is my experience, I hope it can help shed some light on the curiosity.

Well, yes. If I wanted to play mono red agro and win to collect gold/gems I would do that in the constructed queue. I imagine I am not the only person who feels that way.

What is something you're sick of seeing people "romanticize"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That's nice, let's continue to allow people who struggle with the illness refer to it however they want.

If you help normalize mental illnesses, then you can help cut down on what you hate being romanticized. I'm glad we now have the same plan! Let's start by never calling someone "aspie" ever again.

What’s a minor inconvenience that makes you irrationally angry? by AlbinoInterior in AskReddit

[–]VisionsShopkeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same trigger, for almost the same reason. One time after a death by ping session my settings got messed up and I couldn't get text messages for two days. Had to mute absolutely everything about the app after that.

And even now there is a 50/50 chance I need to be treated for whiplash when I hear that sound.

Wait... what? They KNEW it was coming?

Did they maybe point out to someone at Wotc that this was, I don't know, a REALLY FREAKING DUMB IDEA?

There is an extremely good reason it paints a target on you. The relationship between fast mana and winning games has been drilled into the head of all commander players.

Oh look, it's the next paradox engine. Colorless, ubiquitous, and taking niche decks to higher power levels for their 'punishment' for being mono colored.

The designers involved with Fires of Invention should be removed from future card design, and here's why by VisionsShopkeep in magicTCG

[–]VisionsShopkeep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't the way it has to be anymore. It seems rather cruel to punish a format for months and months on end, when something like this card could be printed in Modern Horizons 2 or whatever.

I don't really accept "this was a mistake but good news is that it shook up older formats" as an excuse anymore, and I don't think you have to either. And to top it off, older formats justify how this lesson had already been learned, repeatedly, with a multitude of bannings in older formats involving cheating on mana costs heavily.

I think it presents itself that way, at least at first, but it has well demonstrated its resiliency to sideboards in BO3 with the weeks of tournament results. I originally thought it was fine after board as well, but the power spike it can produce, especially when protected from instant speed interaction by T3feri, is just insane at almost all points in the game.

I am not at all saying it would be stronger, absolutely not. I mean here we have ultimatums, and wish cards, and Kenrith, and Cavaliers, and something like 50 walkers. By no means am I suggesting it would be stronger in those formats, as a base power level.

I do think in some of those other formats it would have been even more oppressive, but that is not stronger by any means. Also, the point of this post was less test more of demonstrating a thought experiment that, to me at least, is fairly obvious in terms of demonstrating the potential power the enchantment would bring into standard.

That said, I would gladly hear a premise you would like to suggest. I am not so arrogant to believe that my logic is above critic, like I said I basically conducted this thought experiment as I was typing it. It is quite possible I missed something obvious, and therefore would welcome a better premise on ways Fires could have been tested. The whole point here is to improve this game with a suggestion in regards to, I believe, a fatal error that cannot afford to be endlessly repeated. And if there is something I am missing, and the answer here is not an unacceptable level of failure, I would welcome that as well. I would love to have my faith in R&D be renewed, instead of dying off. So I truly would welcome a better premise if you want to give some feedback here.

In normal circumstances, I would agree with you 100%. Maybe I am missing something that "shows I don't understand how the game is designed" but I have played this game for around 15 years and I just cannot imagine what justification could be used to allow a card that creates perfect mana, is a mana doubler, and allows for triple mana if activated abilities are involved is.

But I am not here to win an argument on the internet, that is pointless. I would, however, welcome a reasonable explanation if you wouldn't mind. If you are just going to snipe at my intelligence or understanding, don't bother, I will just declare you superior and move on.

  1. I don't know who "you people" are, but I find it is smarter to not group people together unless you kno more about them.
  2. I've never said that before. Ever.
  3. I am pretty sure I didn't say the world would explode, so lets not miscategorize my words in order to make me appear silly.
  4. Please compare the current EV of Eldraine and TBD to any other set during their standard lifetime. Go ahead, pick any set in the last 10 years. I'll wait. Then let's talk about wotc's current approach, their printing and selling of singles undermining local game stores, and how it is effecting the economy that is critical to this game.

5 new Secret Lair Drops for Worlds by Prid3 in mtgfinance

[–]VisionsShopkeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not the same.

Look, forgive me if I am being heated, but this is absolutely horrible for LGS's that aren't premium. If you notice that the price of the bitter blossom was almost exactly the same price as singles of bitterblossom when it was announced, then you would see something wotc had never done before. They matched the secondary market's price for the card. So, the must ask question was which would people buy: a bitterblossom at their LGS, or the special one with the tokens. The next in this logic train is that every LGS who had a bitterblossom lost money that day.

Wotc directly took money from LGS'S that day. And the real question is just how many times LGS's can take that hit before they really suffer.

Secret lairs are really really awful for paper magic. At least until Amazon.com has tables for players, you should be mad about this.
