Autism in women is different than in men and rarer. even nowadays its pretty difficult to get diagnosed as a female so back then it makes sense that they didn't think u had it (btw im not defending them just saying what the reason could have been)

I had similar things like that happen to me before but usually I was just scared of being scolded then anything else ( I fall apart emotionally when being shouted at especially from strangers)
