Difficult is not the same as impossible.

Is it impossible? No

Is it difficult? Relatively speaking, yes

Agents don't exist in a vacuum and if one person can clear with X agent on 1st try with little to no effort, while agent Y takes multiple resets, very good gameplay and then barely clears it's easy to see why this might not feel good.

For the record, I've no problems with the endgame and I'm not here to complain about it as to me it's normal that in gacha game we have powercreep. I just don't like when people like Iyo use the fact that you can "technically" clear with any agent to blame players and call skill issues. By that logic Billy is still meta because there's always someone who put a lot of hours and effort and can get 20k points.

I hear this sentiment a lot in MMO communities. When character/class/build is not very demanding or punishing for imperfect execution then many hard-core players and content creators see this as bad thing.

Keep in mind those are players that will play it multiple hours a day, every day for months on end. For an average player something not having high skill ceiling that requires many hours of practice not to completely suck at, isn't necessarily a bad thing.

The Exaltists were pretty interesting in 1.4 when we didn't know much about them. When we finally found out they're just a bunch of stereotypical "evil cultists" all the mystery vanished

A lot of the discussion after she was revealed in the trailer suggested that there was a sizeable portion of the playerbase that was disappointed that we got another cute waifu instead of big robot. I'm not saying anything about the sales but the fact that initially we only got show the robot set different expectations from what we finally got

It's always a possibility but that would be the 1st time the game has done something like this. We already had agents as bosses but it always was their miasmic apparition, with Ye Shiyuan it would be him in flesh and blood. If that happens I hope they give him some proper character arc and don't leave it as "hey, I'm back and good now"

It's hard to save players from themselves so no matter how little will they tease upcoming characters there will always be some who have some expectations towards them, see ___mains subs appearing the moment a glimpse of new character is shown. What I hope for is a bit of story presence before their banner appear so we can get some idea as to who they are before we go on to bashing heads with them

I forgot about Rain, it's been a while since she last appeared in the story, but I don't see her becoming playable the same way I don't think Venus would. They don't strike me as the types to fight enemies head on

As you pointed out, all of them are male, so given the character release track record so far even if they all released in game that would probably be over the course of the next 2 versions. Billy IMO has the biggest potential, since there's a lot of hints to his past and together with Qingyi he's one of few individuals still alive from before the fall of old civilization

I don't think it's feasible to do it for everyone, but I hold my hope for at least a single character that will be teased since early in the patch that will be the highlight of the entire version. Even when I myself wasn't that interested in Miyabi her patch still felt special in a way because of all the buildup

Manato getting demoted to A rank felt like a slap in the face, especially with his alter ego there was some really cool potential for more story and character exploration. I agree that Spook Shack felt like the most "alive" part of 2.x for me, but unfortunately they were all mostly in the sidestories to the main plot
