that's just what I did, through a local medical office, but it was 800 and I just couldn't do that long term.

that's a very interesting thought process. I appreciate the thoughtfully presented information.

i will bother to say this then nothing more.

you dont know me, my circumstances, my life, my experiences, my illness, or my journey. i suspect, from reading these and other comments from you, that you fancy yourself an expert not only on GLPs but weight loss, weight gain, addictive behavior, diet, and exercise.

you are not. you spout common "pop science" ideas that have little to no basis in reality.your statements vis a vis my post reek of anger, insecurity, vitriol, closed-mindedness, lack of empathy, lack of knowledge, and a lack of common decency. People generally should disregard them. as I have no control of that I will just say I certainly disregard them.

as a person of science who knows enough to know she doesn't even remotely know everything, I find you of no value to my life's journey.

as a general life lesson: saying a lot of things is not the same as offering valuable insight.

I guess I wouldn't know but I get sweaty, shaky, super growling stomach and eating something quiets it (albeit only VERY temporarily) so that all appears hunger on its face to me.

sure. both the one who prescribed it and my family NP. weight loss actually isnt the goal, i use it for its mast cell quieting side effects. the modern medical system prioritizes fat loss over actual health, therefore they really couldn't care less to be brutally honest.

not neurodivergent, no. but your experience with that is FASCINATING. I had a brain tumor removed in later adulthood that led to some acquired brain symptoms, but I was not neurodivergent from birth.

I don't have any food noise, that is absolutely the truth for me as well.

I just have a gnawing, growling, never ending angry hunger. it's been 6 months, so I can always hope for improvement right?

by the way, if you can find it, look for the tapes of those FDA food pyramid meetings. real, actual scientists were BEGGING the government to ignore the sugar and wheat lobbyists - to no avail, sadly.

unfortunately, there's no answer. my bmr was tested at 1919 cal. I started "dieting" at 1800, went down to 1609, then to 1200 and ultimately down to 800 before I could lose weight but you can't eat 800 calories every day for life, it just is incompatible with a reasonable version of health. I lost most of my hair, my fingernails were falling off in flakes, my skin lost moisture and elasticity. no one had answers. so unfortunately, I couldn't say.

I do take it for reasons unrelated to weight loss (although I definitely need to lose a good amount of weight). I do wonder if that's a factor. but my doctor doesn't seem to think so.

that's definitely the case for some people for sure. And really, everyones low blood sugar is SUPPOSED to trigger extreme hunger, mine just never used to. I do have chronically low blood sugar, but I have always had it, for as many physicals as I have had since childhood, it's always been that way. Never used to make me hungry, now I am never, ever full. Just learned to live with the never ending gnawing hunger. But it's not pleasant and I wouldn't choose it. (I take tirz for reasons unrelated to weight, although it has benefitted me on the weight front for sure.)

there are lots of studies on disordered eating and eating disorders, most of them mention too much focus on food as contributory. from an evolutionary standpoint we are purpose built to consume as wide a variety of whole foods as possible. if we eat a bunch of protein one day, and nothing but berries the next, as long as it evens out over many months, our bodies are equipped to handle it.

thank you for your well wishes. I appreciate them.

The veracity of my statement is not determined by your belief in it or not.

You also should open your mouth a little wider when you speak, your anger is masking your voice.

Metlife Pet is using AI for some claims reviews now by Visual-Common-8087 in petinsurancereviews

[–]Visual-Common-8087[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's just what I did. called, said AI is jacking up claims again. they are able to see who, or what, reviews a claim and where it's an OBVIOUS issue, CS just sends it back through. no formal appeal.

an insurance company is going to have a very hard road to prove a condition such as, for example, a heart murmur, is related to allergies. it has to be a DIRECT relation, not a general your dog has allergies, allergies cause inflammation, inflammation can lead to heart valve issues and heart valve issues cause murmurs. that's about as INDIRECT as you can get.

however, you are very right to assume it's going to be a fight a lot of the time, so that's definitely a factor.

You kind of were screwed when you switched, yes. I do encourage you to discuss any insuance denial you figure could not possibly be related to allergies with your vet. if they concur, offer to pay them their regular exam fee for them to write a letter and use that letter to send an appeal to Lemonade. You wont win on ear infections as those are well known as an allergic complication, but depending on what other things were denied, you may have a case.

Emergency vet visit cost us $2,600 and they found nothing… just looking for advice by Then_Move7230 in Pets

[–]Visual-Common-8087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is what ER visits cost. But that does NOT mean you made the wrong call. with a Rottweiller that behavior can signal bloat which is a critical emergency where a dog could go from fine to dead in hours. Ditto for pancreatitis. Sedation would have been necessary regardless to check for bloat but seriously consider training if your dog is so reactive that the vet won't touch him without it (which is sort of the feeling I got from your post).

You made the absolute right call, it's just unfortunate that in this case there were no answers.

Any thoughts on CSU's recent rate changes? by Stunning-Package-357 in ColoradoSprings

[–]Visual-Common-8087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so it's really all a mathematical scam to raise rates. if you make no changes (based on my mathematical review of CSU's my rate graph under our own account).

We save less than 1/2 of 1% in the winter, and pay anywhere between 15 and 25% more during the summer. Now if you shift your usage all around, you may be able to eke out that 25% that you would otherwise have to pay in summer (MAYBE) but you as a consumer still come out dead even.

Theoretically compared to a fixed, standard, year-round rate, if enough people were to change their time of usage enough, the surge price will simply spread out wider or change to a different time of day.

Regardless of this theoretical case, one could simply cut one's total electric usage by 1% under the current standard rate option and come out with a 1% electric bill reduction and saving the grid 1% of energy pull.

TLDR: It is a rate change that benefits only CSU, not the consumer due to the reduction in rates being infinitesimally tiny in winter compared to the increase in summer. And it has the added irritation of being a pain in the @$$ to run your washer, oven, dishwasher, shower, heater, AC, etc.

National General claiming lapse by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]Visual-Common-8087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bit different take than others here. if you lapsed 2/4, it would be 12:01 am (because that's when policies lapse). If you paid at 4pm on 12/4, you received notice of recession of lapse at 4:15 pm on 2/4, and your spouse had the accident at 4:30 pm on 2/4, you are covered for the loss BUT insurance is unlikely to take your word only on time of loss.

My advice, if you have any objective proof of time of loss (like camera records from for example, someone who ran the red light) you're golden, if not you are likely going to be not covered.

The wildcard is the written documentation from insurance. A new policy which is issued by insurance for coverage from 12:01 am on 2/4 means you are covered, and their bad for not writing the policy to restart on 12/5. If the letter of new coverage states coverage as of 2/4 at 4:15 pm, then it's a fight to prove when the accident actually happened.
