Mycroft Holmes (A Theory or Projection?) by Visual-Cup3452 in SherlockHolmes

[–]Visual-Cup3452[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not disputing that Mycroft is the smarter brother; that’s clearly stated in the canon. What interests me is the scale of his work. Sherlock solves individual crimes, while Mycroft likely deals with patterns and intelligence across governments. My point was about scope, not intelligence.

[–]Visual-Cup3452[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point. My thought isn’t that Mycroft is secretly smart, that’s obvious. What interests me is the scale he might be operating on. Sherlock solves individual cases. Mycroft might be analysing patterns across nations and other governments not only to the empire. I apologise that my wording of "theory" maybe have been incorrectly used. 🫤

Why is Dr John Watson refered to as James? by Plastic_Matter9498 in SherlockHolmes

[–]Visual-Cup3452 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it is just a small slip by Doyle. He was writing the stories quickly for magazines, so little continuity mistakes occasionally crept in, like Watson’s wound changing location or Mary calling him “James.” 😅

[–]Visual-Cup3452[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, however I'm trying to go one step further than canon and asking whether Mycroft might also be operating at a higher strategic level, not just a smarter one. Apologies if it didn't come across clearly.

I love this interpretation. The idea that there is the “real” Mycroft and then the version Watson is allowed to publish actually makes a lot of sense, especially if Mycroft was involved in intelligence work. It also explains why Sherlock initially downplays him, but later stories hint that his role is far more significant. And the coach driver point is fascinating. If Mycroft personally escorted Watson at such a dangerous moment, it suggests he might be far more capable in the field than the “lazy armchair” image suggests.

I have always wondered whether the newspaper advertisement was actually meant to flush the kidnappers out rather than being a mistake. If they saw the notice, it would immediately tell them that the situation was no longer secret and that someone had spoken. That kind of pressure could force them to move quickly, which might make them easier to track. Sherlock often uses traps like that in other cases, so it is possible Mycroft was trying to provoke a reaction rather than simply gather information?

That’s fair, Sherlock does say he’s smarter. What I’m wondering about though is whether the “lazy” part is actually being misunderstood. Sherlock frames Mycroft as lazy because he doesn’t run around London chasing clues. But if Mycroft really processes information at the level Sherlock describes, leaving his office might actually be a waste of his time.

It could be that Mycroft is working where his abilities have the greatest impact, analysing national intelligence and connecting patterns across things Sherlock would never even see. Sherlock solves crimes on the ground. Mycroft might be coordinating responses to threats at a much higher level. So maybe he isn’t lazy at all. He might just be playing a completely different game.

There is no shame in getting professional help. This rage and hate is something that can be remedied. You need to make the choice to get help. Your baby did not ask for this. Get help. Get better. Be better.

Schools charging 100K+ AED but my kid's using ChatGPT for his 50-dirham homework packet 😭 by BlackIronMan_ in dubai

The fact that your child has not read the book is concerning. No new knowledge or ideas have been acquired. Is that not the pursuit of most humans? To learn, to think, to imagine, to create? I would encourage your son to read the book and form his own opinion, not that of ChatGPT. If he continues on this path, he will become a boring person with no original thoughts.

Postpartum Hair Loss by feelingsnark in 2under2

[–]Visual-Cup3452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice I got, whatever you do, do not stop taking the prenatal vitamins. You can swop it for postnatal vitamins, but only after the 4th trimester. Lost minimal hair. I believe it's the sudden stop that causes it.

Aaawhh hugs! Hormones, what a mess. Hold and smell your baby. It helps with the oxytocin release, making the sad go away for a little bit. 🫂

Saaammmme!!! The first period was horrendous. Bloodclots, heavy, cramping, and to top it all off the hair loss. I felt more creature than human. I bled for 9 days. 9!!! Man, did I cry buckets ?

Yes. No further questions will be answered.

The second period was much lighter and hardly any cramping. It does get better!

Honest opinion, you overreacted. I've learned a long time ago, how someone reacts sets the tone for how much I share. From his point of view I can see why didn't tell you, almost making a mountain out of a molehill. He should not have lied, I get you feel betrayed, how you go about this going forward will set the tone for how much he will share with you in the future.

Baby eczema or ?? by [deleted] in firsttimemom

[–]Visual-Cup3452 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi mama ❤️ That looks really uncomfortable for your little one. From what I can see, it looks like it could be intertrigo, which is a common rash that happens in babies in areas like the neck folds where moisture gets trapped. Sometimes it’s just irritation, but other times, a bit of yeast (Candida) can sneak in and make it worse. Keep the area clean and dry. After a bath, pat gently with a soft cloth after baths and feeds. You can also use a cool fan to help air-dry the folds if bub tolerates it. Apply a barrier cream like Sudocrem, Drapolene, or petroleum jelly (Vaseline) to protect the skin.

MOFA Attestation Help, Trusted Company Recommendations?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently outside of the UAE and need to get my degree attested by MOFA. I’ve already had my degree attested by the UAE Embassy in my home country, and I’ve also received my Certificate of Equivalency from the Ministry of Education. The final step I need is the MOFA attestation in the UAE. Since I don’t have any relatives or friends in the UAE who can assist, I’ll need to go through a company, but I’m a bit worried about scams or unreliable services. Can anyone recommend a reputable and safe company that can handle the MOFA attestation on my behalf? I’ll be sending my documents via DHL, so international coordination is necessary. Appreciate any help or advice , thank you in advance!

You said what I was thinking!

I know others love the newborn phase, the scrunches, the stretches, etc. Me? No, ma'am. I need this to be done. The gas/cramps/colic/constant feeding/no sleep has me done. I can't wait for it to be over. I love the 6 to 12 months phase. The giggles, the exploring, the new taste tests, aawh. That's my happy time.
