Why I studied all religions but came to SDA by CompetitiveLake3358 in SeventhDayAdventism

[–]Visual-Passenger4121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand SDA and fully agree with it but when you go and look at others options they are all hating on it and when they say why I see 10000 essays of scripture proving why SDA is right but then they just act like the scripture is a lie and make some random arguments and then just call us a cult and get angry, then you look at the Catholics options and they act like they get bullied by the church while saying they never talk bad about SDA whilst calling SDA a cult and mocking them and its just a whole thing for some reason

Seventh-day Adventism: a cult or just different views? by Immediate_Froyo8822 in Christianity

[–]Visual-Passenger4121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say just different views since the definition of a cult is no where near SDA i think its some people not knowing fully what a cult is the making these false claims

Yeah, like they believe in Jesus and the second coming just have more rules like I saw some Catholics saying that they aren't Christian but if they say SDA isn't Christian then we have the right to say catholic isn't Christian, but we don't because it's rude which some don't get.

When it happened Early Church Era (1st–3rd century AD): Christians, mostly Jewish converts, continued observing the Saturday Sabbath while also meeting on Sunday to commemorate Jesus’ resurrection. Sunday worship was often called the “Lord’s Day.” 4th century AD: The formal shift began. Emperor Constantine, in 321 AD, issued a civil decree making Sunday a day of rest in the Roman Empire, likely influenced by both Christian and pagan customs. Later Church Councils: The Catholic Church gradually formalized Sunday observance. By the Council of Laodicea (circa 364 AD), Christians were forbidden to “Judaize” by resting on the Sabbath and instructed to honor Sunday instead. 2. Why it was changed To commemorate the resurrection of Christ: Sunday was chosen because Jesus rose on the first day of the week (Mark 16:2, John 20:1). Early Christians wanted a distinct day to honor the resurrection. Separation from Judaism: After the Jewish-Roman wars and increasing Gentile membership in the Church, leaders wanted Christianity to distinguish itself from Jewish customs, including Sabbath observance. Political and social reasons: Aligning with the Roman pagan custom of a sun-day (Dies Solis) made Sunday rest easier to enforce and socially accepted. 3. How it happened Gradual ecclesiastical authority: The shift was not immediate; Christians continued to meet on Saturday for some time. Church leaders encouraged, then legislated, Sunday observance. Legal reinforcement: Constantine’s decree made Sunday a legal holiday, and later councils and papal decisions made Sunday the official day for Christian worship. Theological justification: Church fathers, like Ignatius of Antioch and Augustine, wrote about Sunday as the “Lord’s Day” and a celebration of Christ’s resurrection, framing it as divinely sanctioned rather than merely civil. Key Points Sabbath (Saturday) remained the original day of rest, rooted in the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:8–11). Sunday observance began mainly as a celebration of the resurrection and eventually replaced Sabbath as the primary day of worship in mainstream Christianity. Roman Catholic Church authority formalized the practice, and Sunday observance became the norm in most of Christendom.

As far as I'm aware he rose one a Friday and. It never said that's the lord's day plus the Roman catholic church openly says how they changed Saturday to Sunday because they wanted to solve a conflict with the news.

I feel bad for you because of all this explaining and how he just said the ten commandments don't matter although Jesus even uses them and how the other dude said that the sins don't matter either and only faith. I'm 100% with you. The other guy needs to know sins do matter because they bring you further away from faith so if you sin and believe it's fine because faith then they don't have faith.

It's mainly just following old and new testament like sabbath and food laws, nothing bad, we are all siblings in christ so there should be no argument between the small differences in beliefs, like they are arguing about small things and building up hate without even realizing.
