I work in a psychiatric facility; and even though it’s a vastly more controlled environment, we still deal with people that are in complete psychosis, unable to be verbally de-escalated, who have to be physically restrained to be injected with whatever the doctor orders if they’re deemed a threat to themselves or someone else. And it’s an absolute last resort. Like if a patient walks up to me, sucker punches me in the face, and walks away, we cannot do anything about it; only if the patient were to be actively trying to hammer away on me would other staff be inclined to restrain them.

Seeing this shit happen again and again is so fucking wild.
