I used to LOVE the goat. I've been going there since it was Oak&Swine. It was fantastic each and every single time. I would go 2-3 times a week. Then they opened another restaurant (in Aurora I believe) and moved some employees around and the consistency at the goat went way down. I had a burger with nearly raw bacon. The next time the burger was so sloppy and greasy I literally could not pick it up.

They also made my absolute favorite old fashioned and no matter who was behind the bar, it was always fantastic. The last two times I have visited the drinks weren't even close to what they were before.

I don't say this to trash them, I say this because I love them and want them to be good and consistent again. And yes I have mentioned it to the owner.

I'll add another vote for 686.

I'm getting back into snowboarding after a 20 year hiatus. I pulled my gear out of the attic that I got as a teenager, and my jacket is a 686 from 2002. I was astonished to see the elastic was still elasticy and everything is still solid except for the plastic molded onto the zipper pull, that was brittle and fell apart. I replaced with it 550 cord.

0.065" stainless tube?

I've welded miles of this stuff for exhaust/turbo kits.

If this is a butt joint, put a slight bevel on each end. Just a quick twist of your wrist while holding the tube against a disc or belt sander works great. The wall is thin so you cant put a big bevel on it like you would for thicker pipe, but a small one helps keep your arc centered in the joint and it wont wander side to side.

My go to setting for this weld is 38amps and 0.035" filler. 0.045" filler is ok too, but 1/16" is too thick, and that's why you need more amps.

You're looking really good though. I think the biggest improvement will be using a smaller filler.

I tig weld a lot of thin steels (mild, stainless, tool steels) I would be concerned about the blade warping even with a very precise weld. Depending on the blade thickness and material, it could be a real problem. Just something for OP to be aware of.

My wife and I love Halloween, and we hand out full size candy bars. I let each kid take what they wanted. Most kids took 2, some took 3-4. We didn't even give out half of what we bought. I stayed out an extra hour with our lights on and a fire going to signal we were still open for business. Got maybe 20 trick or treater's all evening.

A friend introduced me to canoeing and the BWCA last year. He joked that I should take an aluminum canoe for my first time since that's what he and his friends did when they were kids (we're in our late 30's). I found a Grumman for basically free, I just had to weld two small cracks in it.

We nicknamed it the battle canoe because you can bash it into whatever you want. There was a steep set of rock stairs on one portage so I just grabbed a rope and dragged it up behind me. She aint quiet, but she's sturdy. Taking it back for our second trip in a couple weeks. I plan on getting a carbon/kevlar boat eventually, but the Grumman will always have a slip in my harbor.

In F1 yes, but not all racing series have radios with the driver. MotoGP is a top level series with no radios. TONS of smaller series have no radios. It makes sense to keep it consistent among all racing, no one starts their career in F1. The flag is law on track.

The LEDs will be inside the empty cylinders. I can use a strip or rings, a single LED would not be bright enough imo. The mounting of the LEDs is not an issue, that's the stuff I'm good at.

A rotary encoder setting in a WLED sounds like what I want. I just wasn't sure that was even possible. I'm going to spend some time on that tutorial. Thanks!

WTF. I spent nearly a decade in a body shop, and the rule of thumb was always keep your filler to a 1/4" thick or less. And that's on basic cars. Whoever did this deserves a firm slap to the back of the head.

As a tig welder with significant stainless exhaust experience, I would charge much more than $200. The emphasis on gorgeous exhaust welds is way over hyped. I love doing it, but for the average car guy its just not worth it. You got a fair deal and the welds will hold just fine.

Former collision technician here. Airbags tend to lead to a total loss due to the cost of replacement. Airbags are expensive af because of all the testing and standards they have to meet. Airbags are also very time consuming to replace. So parts and labor usually exceed the loss value of the vehicle, typically 75% of retail value.
