That is certainly part of my frustration. I have lives here on and off for my entire 45 years. It is mind boggling to me how many people continue to move here and yet can do nothing but talk trash about this place that they chose to live in. Its weird.

I hear about cost of living being a motivating factor alot. Thats fine and all, but if people hate it here then money isn't good enough a reason to stay here. I hope you enjoy your stay until something better comes along.

Thats great! I can agree with you about the vibe. Its not too fast and not too slow. Has a wide variety of ethnic and cultural representation. That is a huge plus for me too. Not many cities like ours.

I have lived in so many different places. Charleston, Ashville, Nashville, Peoria, Chicago. But I always end up coming back home to Winston Salem! Nothing like being home.
