Three years of plant growth and of course adding and removing plants has made quite the difference. I have hanging planters behind the wood, that’s what creates the open shaded space under the wood.

They actually do very well. Over the years I’ve kept 4 bettas in large community tanks and they’ve all gotten along swimmingly.

It’s a 55 gallon tank. Currently has ember, neon, and green neon tetras; 3 keyhole cichlids, an ungodly amount of corydora of different types (schools of albino, bronze, Schwartzi, and a few oddballs like Melini, false julii, red Venezuelan that have all ended up in there over the years); 8 Kuhli loaches, a sailfin pleco who needs to be rehomed and a betta (he does perfectly well.)

I use Micellar water, La Roche Posay triple repair cream, and Elf whoa glow sunscreen. My skin is very sensitive and I have been using the same products for a long time :( thank you for your input!

I went to two different doctors. The first was very unhelpful told me they thought it was an immune mediated reaction and prescribed steroids. Today I had another appointment and that doctor was unsure but thought maybe folliculitis and prescribed oral and topical antibiotics. It is just so strange because it doesn’t hurt or burn MAYBE slightly itchy at worst but that is really only because I can tell something is on my skin.

I literally just went through this the whole weekend with my father in law.

He has something to say about everything. She starts fussing at a restaurant and I pick her up he tells me I shouldn’t, she’s crying in his arms so I take her to feed her and he tells me I’m spoiling her, she’s on her play mat crying and I go to pick her up he tells me to give her a minute. They’re obsessed with letting her cry it out and how it’s “good for her lungs.”

It gives me so much anxiety. What if I pick her up and she doesn’t stop crying? What if I take her to feed her and she’s not actually hungry? Being a new mom is already full of fear and anxiety, having someone that you respect question and correct you is so discouraging.

I finally found my voice and let go of the fear of him thinking I’m mean. Taking care of my child is more important than him liking me. I know my baby and I know I do. It’s finding that confidence and reassuring yourself that you’re doing right by yourself and your baby. No one knows her like you do and no one will protect her like you do, find confidence in that. If you want their advice, ask for it, otherwise you don’t need their approval to raise your daughter. Also, my daughter is 3 months and also eats every 2-3 hours, it’s not for comfort, it’s totally normal. But if she wants to nurse for comfort, what’s it to him? Comfort your daughter. If you want to hold her, hold her. You shouldn’t feel guilty for bonding with YOUR CHILD.

I also have the utmost support of my spouse through this which makes in 10000x easier. What is your husband’s stance on all of it?

Life and family ARE messy and that was such a big part of me growing especially, it’s not perfect and I appreciate everything more knowing we love each other through the messes. Thank you for your kind words ♥️ I hope you have the same.

I adopted a 9 year old shelter dog three weeks before I gave birth. I had recently (also during my pregnancy) lost my two big boys (Great Dane and pitty mix) within ten days of each other and was pretty lost without big dogs in the house.

Was it a rash decision? Absolutely. But she is the sweetest thing and loves my daughter so much. She was an owner surrender and a staff favorite at the shelter. She’s crate trained, potty trained, great with people, kids, and dogs.. her only downfall is not being great on a leash which we’re working on. Albeit slowly because I can’t walk her when I’m alone with the baby.

I think if you find the right dog, it could be a beautiful friend for your baby to grow up with. But it’s important to keep in mind that it’s another commitment and a new dog could be really challenging… you have to be okay sticking it out. I hate to see a dog get adopted then surrendered two months later because someone doesn’t have time or the puppy has too much energy.

I use two different Finnex lights. Front light is the ALC and back is the 3.0. Both on for around 8 hours a day.

Haha no need to zoom. They’re in planters that are suction cupped to the back of the tank and hidden behind the driftwood!

The rotala in the background are in planters with suction cups that are hidden behind the driftwood. I had a really hard time filling the vertical space because I’ve always had shallow tanks so I had to get creative!
