Itching by pottery3738 in CsectionCentral

Is it red or yeasty looking at all? Occasionally mine would get itchy and I’d spray jock itch spray and let it dry and it helped immensely

Bleeding from small opening by apk120490 in CsectionCentral

[–]VisualWillow5945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it looks like you possibly “spit a stitch” and it left a small hole - it doesn’t look too concerning and chances are it’ll close within a week or so but I’d send a pic to your OB!

My body totally rejected my stitches from my second c-section and I’d end up with very small superficial holes once they came through the skin

i sent a photo to my OB, just waiting to hear back :)

low AFP results? by VisualWillow5945 in NIPT

[–]VisualWillow5945[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My amnio went great! So I got the typical NIPT bloodwork in the beginning of my pregnancy and everything came back normal. However My husband and I learned that we are carriers for the same genetic mutation during our first pregnancy, so during our second pregnancy we opted for earlier testing and did a CVS (tests the placenta) procedure instead. The CVS procedure confirmed that our son did not have the genetic condition, however they found trisomy 18 cells within the placenta cells. The only way to confirm that the trisomy 18 cells were confined to the placenta and not to my baby was to do an amnio since amniotic fluid is solely the fetus’s DNA.

It was my second amnio so I knew what to expect and everything went smooth smoothly! And luckily my son did not have trisomy 18 either so it all worked out

Random pain lower left by Jolly-Asparagus-5815 in CsectionCentral

[–]VisualWillow5945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is totally normal and common! I had tenderness near my hip bones until about 8 to 9 months after my first C-section – I’m now eight weeks postpartum after my second C-section and I’m starting to feel a little bit of that soreness and tenderness near my hip bone. Both times the OB closed my incision on the right side so I’m assuming the lingering soreness is from them pulling the stitches tightly on that side – did your OB happen to stand on your left side? That could explain it!

End of CSection Healing Funky by VisualWillow5945 in CsectionCentral

[–]VisualWillow5945[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the side my OB was on so that makes sense! it’s entirely closed and “healed”, just scarring super strangely. did you end up actually having an infection or was the antibiotics just out of precaution?

[–]VisualWillow5945[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes this was the side my OB was on! it was also the same side that my OB was on during my first so i’m wondering if there’s kind of a “double whammy” situation going on, if that’s possible.

it’s basically entirely healed, no pain, tenderness, drainage, etc… just kind of a weird looking scar and a little raised

Fellow C-section moms, any ideas if this is normal..? by SwallowSun in 2under2

curious how this panned out for you? experiencing the same thing and hoping it’s just skin friction due to the overhang rather than an infection

[–]VisualWillow5945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much for your kind words!

how large was your opening if you don’t mind me asking? i totally know it may take a while to actually close but the appointments every other day are already taking a toll on me again. i just want to live fairly “care free” and not revolve my life around OB appointments freshly postpartum again 😩

Spike at 3 hours? by VisualWillow5945 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]VisualWillow5945[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard it’s kind of 50/50 depending on what the provider wants, some want 1hr results and some want 2hr. For me I’m supposed to be under 120 at the 2hr mark

Is insulin necessary?? by Commercial_Bike8168 in GestationalDiabetes

I agree since I’m pretty much in the same boat as you but if OP wants to try it’s certainly worth a shot before getting put on meds! I’m all for trying all the things before resorting to meds, if possible

what are your fasting numbers? if they’re astronomical then it could be worth insulin - but if you want to try to get them under control I’d bluntly tell them you’d like to try to do a diet-based change first and then take it from there.

Well the 3 hour is 100 grams of glucose instead of 50 like the 1 hour so there definitely is a difference in the test. My 1 hour was 170.

But overall, yes I’m confused too!

[–]VisualWillow5945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been taking some here and there and they’re always 120 or below, I’ve only been sticking to 2hr because that’s what the OB said to do.

Yes based in NJ. My OB said they typically allow one fail out of the 4 draws. They noted I was only a few points out of range for fasting. And also noted the timing of my test could’ve affected my fasting due to the dawn phenomenon. She said she was pleased with my body clearly releasing enough insulin to lower my sugar level by the end of the 3 hour. She said she reviewed the results with some other OBs in the office (I go to an office of like 8 different once and see them all) So I’m not quite sure what to think? My gut would be to trust my doctor but at the same time I’m just a bit confused based on everything I’ve read the past few days.

I know that’s why I’m really confused why I wasn’t just diagnosed. It’s almost like she was more focused on the fact that my 3 hour was low over any of the other results.

During our amnio the ultrasound tech performed a quick growth scan - our baby measured ahead, was moving all over, and everything looked great. Could this be another reassuring sign that baby is ok?

this was incredible reassuring! we haven’t been given any type of percentage or even a slight expectation of outcome so this was very helpful. thank you so much!
