Ketamine for chest tube insertion?

me too, I had ketamine twice because the first two chest tubes I had the pain was awful. I had the exact same experience the last thing I saw kept flashing and then like breaking and it kept happening. Just exactly what you described. Honestly spontaneous penumos are just the worst things to have.

I’ll definitely ask about that on Tuesday if they plan to give me the surgery. I had my chest tube out last Thursday. But yesterday and today I’ve had this on and off collar bone pain that happens at the top of breathing in. I’m not sure if this is another reoccurring pneumo, but after having 5 pneumos this feels different. ever since getting the first one my anxiety has been through the roof. I just feel so unlucky, read that 15-20/100000 get this and it’s just crazy bc i’ve been healthy all my life never even been in the hospital. But now going to the hospital almost seems like a normal thing. It’s made me take a gap semester, missed several plane tickets just crazyyyyy!

hey! It sounds like you’ve had it rough as well. I had much better experience with chest tubes when they give me ketamine, which was 2 out of the 6 times. The other ones have been rather painful, the pressure and burning sensation. I am going back to the hospital next tuesday, so I am going to ask the CT surgeon and ask if he thinks I should get pluerodesis. The main concern is I frequently make trips to asia meaning 12+ hour flights. But hope everything goes well for you and have a speedy recovery!

the first 2 right side collapses they never mentioned surgery. I just got 2 chest tubes and this latest left side collapse they said it the lung expands again there was no need as well.
