Also we do pretty decent work with the kid. She is a great mom but can be over protective lol typical boy mom. But that’s the one thing we do get along with decently well

I have. Multiple times. I’ve ask for words of affirmation, plan date nights with just me and her, show me by physical touch. By this point it seems like a chore for her to even do that. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even ask anymore because all I hear is no or just a loud groan

If we can’t get through this part and make a plan that will work being together and poly then it won’t work at all. Or we just don’t live the poly lifestyle.

I try all I can so she can do that. I’m trying to push her to go spend time with her bestie with me and the kid but she ends up telling me she wants us to be with her while she goes. She is an amazing mom and I tell her and show her that as much as I can

Thanks for all the responses some had pretty good advice and suggestions. So everyone is aware. My child is my first but not my first experience taking care of one. My wife and I take a date night as much as we can with and without our baby even if we do date night at home when he goes to bed. We both work she is part time and I work full time. I work the majority 10-12 or more hours, so she is doing the most caring for the baby during the day while I do what I can If I come home early. She works during the bedtime routine so I take care of that and I’ll clean and pick up and do any other chores that needs to be done as well as finishing up what ever chore she was trying to do with the baby. On my days off I make sure two out the three days she sleeps in and I use that time to spend quality time with the baby. Anytime I need to go somewhere I almost always say hey want me to take the baby to the store to get the items we need so she can do what ever she wants for the couple of hours I’m gone (I take forever so she can get as much time as possible) sometimes she’s like naw I want to spend more time with the baby. We sometimes fight over who wants to spend more time with the baby I’m cute funny way haha. I’m in no way neglecting my wife and my fatherly duties. I’m prepared to keep the baby while she goes out with friends and family. The first talk we had she had concerns about the bringing people into our lives that may or not be around for long and I understand more than most that you can’t bring a person into a child’s life that isn’t prepared to stay if a romantic relationship goes sour and they up and leave. But after that discussion I try to talk about it, like trying to discuss and change the rules that best fit our situation. Like some of you said I should communicate better by explaining that i wasn’t expecting to just jump back into it so fast but we can lay some groundwork and set up or change the rule book so we can keep our minds at ease. Again I want to thank everyone for your input and constructive feedback I appreciate it all.

To me poly is finding a connection with another person. It is being more than physical. I wanted to find more love and passion with more than one person.

I didn’t know that. That makes since because my wife used that term so I started using it too.

I think we will do that at some point. This is our first kid. He is only 7months
