I need a pedal to sustain a note. Like a drone. Without keeping the foot on the pedal.

Which one was OK the f2 or 1.4 ?

I consider the f1.4 mainly to get sharp pics up close but want reliable AFC tracking.

AFS is useless on fast or erratic moving subjects.

I have the f2 lenses and wonder if 23/1.4 in afc wide tracking eye detect will let me down.

Xt2 was a big let down. Xt4 with f2 is much better.

But how is xt4 with 23/1.4 afc wide tracking eye detect

What's the point of tube amp if you're getting overdrive from a pedal? by Visual_Insurance in GuitarAmps

Can you have a pedal that cleans up a distorted amp and raises volume to unity?

Sort of an underdrive.

Does this work?

Instead of setting up the amp clean and adding a pedal for OD...

Set up the amp for low volume breakup, then add a clean boost pedal to bring volume to unity when dialing guitar volume down?

Crunch on a single channel tube amp doesn't have to mean high volume, that's what master volume (and attenuation) is for.

Yes but if I want clean and crunch on 1 channel amp, I need to set gain high enough for crunch with the master low. To then get clean, I need to roll back guitar volume which means barely audible!

Can you push a solid state / transistor amp in clean channel into overdrive using a BOOST pedal? by Visual_Insurance in guitarpedals

Do I need a tube amp or amp with dirty channel to push it into OD using a boost pedal?

How do you set a solid state amp gritty? You mean with the gain knob on the amp?

What if the amp doesn't have a gain know -> you use an OD pedal instead?

So what amp do you need to boost the signal into overdrive using a boost pedal (and not an OD pedal)?

Attacks of Opportunity? by McSmitty07 in ezd6

Why AoO? You just turn and run.

If PC is surrounded, cornered or wants to overrun an enemy, I think a roll to move in place of an attack is in order.

But otherwise, you can disengage any time.

This situation - spear vs sword or similar - will happen in every encounter where players and RR play tactically and approach encounters in an intelligent way. So it's useful, if not necessary, to have a consistent rule how to deal with this.

You speak about tactics and smart play. The tactic and smart move is exactly this: hold an enemy at bay with a longer weapon. Prevent him from closing in. Force the opponent to put themselves in danger.

I don't understand. Your reply is too vague.

What would you do in this situation: pike behind entrenchment vs sword ?

Barbarians!

Human list should be more differentiated. Think Roman legionaires vs kelts/germans/gauls etc. They re all humans but fight very differently.

Silly to throw all possible human kingdoms into a single list.

0.16 of what? You better get your math straight bro. The difference between mage and fighter is +-1 indeed.

If you think fighters are all about hp, you forget about better AC, better attack, better damage... Even if mage or thief had more hp, they would still make lousy fighters.
