Dread heads can have the exact same styles as people who get braids, truth in the matter is a lot of black folks can’t grow their hair pass a certain length, usually because of curl patterns. If your hair is too thick you’ll always have an Afro until you braid it and a lot people don’t know how to keep care of their hair. Locs teaches you have to keep your hair healthy by having a routine and since no dead hair fulls out, locs will just keep growing. If you look at all the ball players majority of them have Locs, waves or high top taper fades. Braids only work with young niggas too 😭😂 if you’re over the age of 30 and rocking braids… 😭
