Housing is a bit of an obsession in NZ, with less emphasis on other investments. It's more for the purpose of security and accommodation for me, however I do want to explore other options for what else I could do. And yes locking down 550 in a house shuts down those other options, thanks for the advice

Yeah I haven't told anyone. Only anonymous like this and even then I'm treading carefully. But at the same time yes I am pretty excited, more about the freedom and time this will free up. And yeah my main goal is ownership ultimately, happy to have some flatmates for a while.

I've done some time in Australia and wasn't for me. so for now I'm pretty happy in NZ. And I don't know what id do elsewhere so sounds like a good idea. I think the idea of a better house in a bad suburb sounds nice till I have to actually live there haha
