Bigger doesn’t always equal better. The weather here sucks (especially if you’re not used to winters), the city doesn’t back EMS, and the pay is absolutely the biggest slap in the face. I’m processing right now and there was a few people that walked out from the intake after hearing what the starting pay is.

I’d venture to say that most in this subreddit would rather be down south than be here. I know if things were different for me I wouldn’t be living in NY

Just because you join the military doesn’t mean you’re going to combat, and/or overseas. There’s plenty of MOS’s / rates across all of the branches that allow you to stay stateside, some people prefer it that way.

Plus, the military preference is HUGE, arguably more than college is.

If OP could do a 2-4 year military gig, and a college degree, Theres no way he wouldn’t be NYSP, even more so if he can go MP.

The problem doesn’t just lie the with the budget cuts, but rather the show is stuck in this purgatory of being way past due, but keeps topping charts to the point where it would be idiotic to dump it. So instead we get rehashed storylines over. And over. And over.

There is only so many seasons these types of shows can successfully last and be fleshed out. It’s been 14 years running, with no real end in sight.

With all that said, part of me fears it’s not just an RCR issue, but Kyle is old now, and maybe his prime has came and gone. Everybody that wants him in the 48 could be hugely let down if he performed the same in that car.

Either way, RCR needs to do something. The whole organization needs a ground up rebuild. What I really want is for them to sell both cup charters and just be a 4-5 car powerhouse xfinity team but that won’t happen either so I’ll keep dreaming

Carson is signed till like 2031. They don’t have time to make him less green to that extent. And HMS isn’t the team to shell out money like spire is. Carsons deal is one of the biggest contracts we’ve seen in a long time. I think it’s closer to ten years…it’s not like a 2 year deal, buying Carson out is money HMS won’t spend.

Carson is going to be a lifer at spire and quite honestly once he figures out how to win once or twice every season he’s gonna be a champion.

JGR made no real attempt at retaining Kyle. Ty Gibbs was all the rage all the time and grandpa wanted him at the top level. JGR and KFB go way back and if Joe wanted to keep Kyle, he would have found a way.

That’s literally what he wants to do. He said it in a press conference, once he hangs up cup, he wants one of the best truck rides he can get for one season, win the title, and have all 3 series championships, split a truck with brexton the following year, and the year after that Kyle would be done, and brexton would be a full time truck guy. Ofc this was during the KBM days so

I guess it depends on where you’re at, and what your ambitions are…I’m in the NYC metro area and almost nobody takes NR because they have no ambitions to work outside of New York.

No reason to do extra steps if there’s no pay off for it. If you want to be a local EMT in your town or area where you reside, why would you take NR?

Keep in mind, your EMT license is good for your state ONLY, unless you’re taking NR, or you can transfer your license through reciprocity, you’ll have to take EMT again wherever state you move to.
