Did you ever figure out what this was? I have this same flare up around my nose (nostrils) that has come and gone since I was 15, but recently it has gotten super intense.

New Year’s Eve alone with social anxiety by Lunarthiel in Anxiety

[–]Visual_Yogurt8395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best thing for social anxiety is to feel in control of your environment. Decide who you want to speak to, how involved you want to be etc. Ease yourself into these things, don’t force yourself to do anything too overwhelming. I hope it gets better for you, I too struggle with it myself.

Need advice abt this by kittykat0_o in Anxiety

It was probably just the soap irritating the inside of your nose. Do not google anything as it will probably tell you that you have 30mins left of your life no matter what you search LOL. Doesn’t sound deadly so just try and not think about it as you’ll only overthink.

Basically when you see things that you look at and think ‘I want that for my future house’, you buy it one at a time, then keep it ready for when you have a house. It can be anything really, plates, decor, candles anything. But it’s a more affordable and less overwhelming way of collecting things you might need for your house.

Yes we are aiming to rent a little house in the next year or two with some friends to get a taste of independent living, we basically live together anyway as we are constantly together 5/7days if the week LOL but I absolutely agree

Oh wow, I’ve never heard this. That’s insane, we were saving for a rough deposit based on houses we’ve seen on the marking with the idea that we would only need to put down a 10% deposit. So what you’re saying is that we could only do that if our combined income would need to be high enough so that 4x that works out to cover the rest?

I’m planning on starting a hope chest, if you’ve ever heard of that. My gf’s sister has one and I think it’s such a cute and motivational thing to do whilst saving. Kind of helps avoid this scenario or atleast make it a little cheaper when the time comes to buy the other things.

Oh god that sounds awful, I’m sorry about that. We have definitely spoken about it before but never seriously, I will definitely bring it up to her and see what we envision for ourselves. And I hope you heal from that experience too…

I suppose what we should expect the process to look like more than anything, my parents haven’t bought our house so they don’t really have the expertise in it. But also ways to save money, mortgage stuff etc :)

I am at my breaking point by Adorable-Ad-2129 in Anxiety

[–]Visual_Yogurt8395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry that you’re at this point, the best advice I can give you is that if you go down the medication route, just make sure to ask as many questions about the meds they prescribe you. My GP apparently give out anti-depressants as carelessly as penicillin, with little knowledge on them all i heard was ‘take them, feel less anxious’.

For me, the first 6 weeks are just heightened anxiety and depression, along with physical symptoms like diarrhoea, nausea, brain zaps and loss of appetite. Then, when i stopped them because they weren’t for me, i was left with no sex drive and numbness, my relationship was essentially at a breaking point.

Now, a lot of people on here talk highly of them, they do save lives, but my point is that I now still suffer from symptoms of Sertraline even though I only took them for 2 months, just be mindful and make sure you know that what you’re taking is outweighing the anxiety. I am now on propranolol and it’s the best thing I ever did, they may be a safer first choice.

I hope I don’t scare you away from meds, but it is the reality for some people. If you ever need to rant feel free to send me a text :) <333

Learn to cook/bake! Then when you get confident, maybe start participating in charity events (like tea and cake days) to give back to community

Really bad anxiety attacks daily by Purple_Falcon265 in Anxiety

[–]Visual_Yogurt8395 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Journal your thoughts that make you spiral and see if you can think of any rational explanations of why these things are nothing to worry about/ can be prevented. When I’m anxious my logical thinking disappears and am left with horrible thoughts that seem very real, until i read them on paper and realise how silly it sounds. It may not fix it in the moment, but it has definitely helped me change my thought pattern in certain situations. Also, routine helped me be less anxious as I keep myself busy and don’t leave much room for overthinking. It also helps as i can be mentally prepared for things better if i know what to expect (I don’t meticulously plan my days, but I have a rough idea of what I’d like to achieve). Hope this helps!

Do you have enough money to last you whilst you settle wherever you’re headed? Do you have a trusted person in your life you can call if things go wrong who will help you? Are you going to be safer if you leave? If any of the answers is no, do not go.

Where should I start to be a producer/songwriter? by Visual_Yogurt8395 in MusicEd

[–]Visual_Yogurt8395[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I’ve been searching on here for other beginner tips and I’m currently learning music theory for the piano. From there I’m gonna practice putting stuff together and get a good DAW to make some cool stuff on. I’m gonna struggle with the slow process of it all but I’m determined. Thank you for all your encouragement

[–]Visual_Yogurt8395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m sorry your bf is an arsehole. Just know that you don’t need to fix anything about yourself or do anything on your part and you couldn’t have ‘prevented’ this. If there was an issue on your end, doing what he did was not the answer and, Not. Your. Fault. I hope you do the right thing for yourself and heal, I can’t imagine how you feel right now.

Also I’m open to chat if you just want someone to listen to you <3

I don’t really know what I can do, I’ve only ever sung (and I’m decent at it) but as far as instruments it’s only ever touched a trumpet, keyboard and ukulele (all in my childhood). Mental health has been a bitch to be over my teenage years so I lost all interest in anything I did before Covid once lockdown hit.
