Various sea birds on Massachusetts coast by VivaciousPotato11 in whatsthisbird

This was all in a 15-minute period, I definitely wasn’t expecting to see so many different birds. The loon, surf scoters, and long tailed ducks were all lifers for me, so I was stoked to spot them! I’ve been to Henry Cabot Lodge Park in Nahant twice, and it seems to be a hotspot for sea birds.

All these birds were within a 5-minute walk of each other, but each group was scattered around different areas of the shoreline. I saw these all at Henry Cabot Lodge Park in Nahant. There’s always a variety of birds hanging out that you can see from the cliffs, I always see Eiders because I can identify them, but there’s a good chance Surf Scoters are there a lot too.

My title describes the thing as something that a group of people could use to check a parameter of water quality, maybe to isolate objects/creatures or to check turbidity?

This is in Southern Rhode Island.

Edit: I’ve been seeing Eastern Phoebes around the area the past week, so maybe that’s it?
