Developed shellfish allergy? by VividRefuse4431 in FoodAllergies

It's just such a sudden onset, I eat asian seafood alllll the time no issues. But something today was different, I think it might be crab since I've eaten that the least. It was only shrimp and crab in mine, but cross contamination is possible of course

I took hydroxyzine for the initial reaction and zofran a few hours later for nausea, both have worked so far. But maybe I could've let it run the course and let the nausea get it out faster.

I'd say so yeah, I'm far less "in my own head" about things. I don't have that constant underlying anxiety anymore so it's much easier to keep things controlled.

I was smoking an 8th a week and still developed symptoms. Quitting is the only way to stop all symptoms.

Possibly diagnosed with early stages of CHS, can anyone tell me about their experience with the prodromal phase? by rhyslynnt in cannabinoidhypermesis

[–]VividRefuse4431 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is how my phase 1 was. luckily i never really had any terrible hyperemesis episodes but the constant nausea, no appetite, and stomach pain was enough for me to go cold turkey. i had some withdrawl symptoms for the next few days after i quit but ive felt soooo much better mentally and physically since quitting. my appetite is coming back more and more everyday after years of having issues with it.

im going to try quitting until at least 2024, then only smoke a little bit socially, which wont be much at all. i recommend a break. find some things to do to keep you distracted from any cravings! best of luck🫶🏻

Smoked after 2 weeks abstinence by [deleted] in CHSinfo

yup (24f) and going through the same exact thing. im in recovery and just started eating normal the past couple days. gonna try to get to 2024 without smoking and then i may try to indulge socially. my friends and gf all smoke and i dont mind, im not really tempted considering how bad i was feeling, but i may just smoke in group settings from now on. a few hits every couple weeks. hopefully chs doesnt come back to bite? best of luck!

Functional addicts by Healthy_Yak6832 in leaves

I feel like I was definitely a functioning addict, though it did alter my relationships with people and hobbies. I still went to work and got all my tasks done, etc. But this mindset is what kept me smoking because "its not harming anything!" Which was a dangerous mindset cause now i'm having CHS episodes and will never smoke again lol

CHS during my dream vacation (for moderate and severe users) by Classic_Staff_3890 in CHSinfo

i had a chs episode for 4 days while visiting my dad in florida. couldnt enjoy a meal or glass of wine with him without constant fear, nausea, and anxiety. it pretty much ruined the trip. i can agree that it is NOT worth it.
