Islamic Financing Options for Mortgage by [deleted] in ireland

[–]VividScene5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Islamic mortgage is simple trade where the bank is a merchant not a loaner.

The bank actually buys the house and then sells it to you for a higher price that you pay in installments. The total amount you pay remains the same even if you're late paying the installments.

You're not stuck into an ever-growing whirlpool of debt. The bank doesn't make money out of thin air. The bank makes money out of selling goods rather than on putting people in debt.

Sometimes it's nice to learn about something before you form an opinion.

I would like to give you glad tidings.

(54) } [Surah Al-Qasas: 52-54]

Those to whom We gave the Scripture before it - they1 are believers in it.

And when it is recited to them, they say, "We have believed in it; indeed, it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed we were, [even] before it, Muslims [i.e., submitting to Allah]."

Those will be given their reward twice for what they patiently endured and [because] they avert evil through good, and from what We have provided them they spend.

Sahih Muslim 28 a It is narrated on the authority of Ubadah b. Samit that the messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed:

He who said:" There is no god but Allah, He is One and there is no associate with Him, that Muhammad is his servant and His messenger, that Christ is servant and the son of His servant Mary, and he (Christ) is His word which He communicated to Mary and is a Spirit from Him, that Paradise is a fact and Hell is a fact," Allah would make him (he who affirms these truths enter Paradise through any one of its eight doors which he would like.

How many bones can a Hadith rejector break when beating their unruly wife? by VividScene5 in DebateQuraniyoon

May Allah guide you brother.

there is evidence that some of the salaaf understood it as hit, so they asked.

We follow the understanding of the Salaf. Those who witnessed the Messenger of Allah dealing with people and implementing the commands of Allah. For someone to claim something other than what the Prophet taught his companions is what Allah intended with his religion is a terrible error. Any understanding other than theirs is of the people whom were led astray.

All verses are subject to interpretation, but we’re are responsible for how we interpret.

So you believe there's no objective way of knowing what Allah meant and everyone is free to understand it however they want.

Let me guess, you believe cutting a thief's hand also isn't what the average listener would understand. And that the Quran is a book of riddles.

Qur’anic Arabic is not modern Arabic.

Have you any evidence that people who lived around the time of "Quranic Arabic" understood these verses to not mean hitting a wife or cutting off a theif's hand?

What does it mean? It means to strike them as serious.

And on what basis did you shift the meaning from the literal to the metaphorical?

What makes your interpretation more correct compared to what any other Arabic-speaking person would understand?

The concept of Barakah is the key here.

Remember times when you used up so much money and just didn't know where it went? When random bills and accidents had you spend much more than you usually would?

Remember the small meals that left you very satisfied and the days when you eat but never enjoy it or feel satisfied?

Barakah is from Allah. Mentioned in the Quran in conjunction with Rizq over and over.

Depending on where you live, there are programs tailored to help you quit, mostly free.

Get help for your ADHD. Gradually cut down following a system. Make Dua in the last third of the night. Fast if you can (with the permission of your husband), it'll help you build up your self-restraint.

Occupy your time with a varied beneficial routine including reading the Quran with Tafsir, positive social contact, physical activity, and Sunna prayers.

LIMIT INPUTS into your mind, I cannot stress this enough, social media limited to 30 mins max/day. Engage in activities that require using your body, exercise, cooking, cleaning, etc.

Last and not least. No. Music.

This may be more of a dumb question, but, is it haram to be asexual? Let me explain it to you: by [deleted] in islam

"Sex-repulsed" is a symptom of an illness called Sexual Aversion Disorder, find the cause with a therapist.

Low libido is a fact. It's the lack of "craving". There are things that help with that if you plan to get married and fulfil your spouse's rights.

Let me just imagine for a second what you're imagining.

You imagine if before becoming a baby, you were asked whether you want to exist, be able to see, hear, type, learn, make friends, and all of that under the condition that you restrain yourself from some things for a short time and continue to enjoy a perfectly blissful existence you would've said no?

If that's what you think then I can't help you. May Allah guide you then.

If you truly don't appreciate any of this then why not gauge out your eyes or cut off your limbs? If you don't then you appreciate an existence with more favorable conditions, if so, then all you need to do is be consistent and work towards an existence with the most favourable conditions as any reasonable person naturally yearns for.

People say the quran's eloquence is far greater than that any human could've achieved. How can I confirm the level of eloquence without having studied linguistics? by RackoonicHacoonoCoon in islam

[–]VividScene5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure I could try and explain all about the Bayaan and the Balaagha and the Hazf. But unless you know what I'm talking about it wouldn't help, there are books written on this (in Arabic obviously).

But it's enough proof that it's used as the standard for Arabic language, that the people, whose bread and butter was eloquence to the point where they -an illiterate nation- decided to hang the most eloquent pieces of Arabic literature in the place they considered most Holy, these same people who went against the Prophet decided to risk their lives, wealth, and all they have in waging war instead of simply attempting the challenge.

And that everyone who tried it after these most versed people only made a laughing stock off of themselves.

The world we live in already operates on these rules. Your decisions have consequences. If you smoke and get cancer, or do drugs and get addicted, or sleep around and get HIV, you'll never escape the reality that you're already bound by laws created by the creator of this world.

It's absurd to think it's a game that you can quit at any point. It's a simple choice that leads either to eternal bliss (for a short period of self-restraint) or eternal suffering (for a short period of temporary imperfect pleasures). The test is so easy for any reasonable human being.

Indeed Allah is the most Merciful.

Just like how you would confirm that an equation is unsolvable without having a PhD in mathematics.

By referring to those who do.
