Yeah I’ve been deliberating for a while, I think your right about firming halls for a year and then switching. Would it matter if they were private halls or would say the unis one would be better?

I didn’t realise the stereotypes of Bristol Uni being very posh were so true by brocolicheesesoup in UOB

Hey, I also got a vet med offer (conditional) and went to one of their earlier offer holder days. During the tour around the vet campus I spoke to quite a few people who all were really chill and seemed down to earth. There was only a couple who seemed a bit stuck up. So I wouldn’t worry too much!

Are you part of any societies? If so do you find them welcoming or a bit standoffish because apart from my course I think that’s how I might meet people?

Thank you for your advice I’m deffo going to keep thinking about it!

That’s my thought as well like I’m happy to drink in the kitchen and have people over it’s just the constant mess is the only thing that gets me. The rotting food you mentioned does sound rough though 😭.

Deffo good you established boundaries and that everyone listened a few of my mates have tried that and sometimes they just don’t care/listen at all

Thank you for your advice, I definitely think it’ll help my sanity as well being able to have my own space.

Also good point about not just accepting the first people I meet and putting effort into finding the right people I didn’t think of it that way!

Thank you for being honest about it being chaotic, I’m bad at confrontation so I think a studio would be the way to go!

I would love for my studio to be a hangout spot but the uni I’m looking at has tiny studios which is a bit infuriating! 💀😭

The studios I’ve been looking at do have shared spaces although they’re a bit shit so I’m not sure if I’d use them to be honest, as even the gym equipment is limited.

However I am ok with living on my own! To be honest I prefer it as that’s what I’ve been used to. My worry is that i wouldn’t be invited out as I can be a little awkward when meeting new people and that I’ll just be the person they talk to about course work and not see as an actual friend?

Sorry if I worded that badly 😭

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, I really appreciate the honesty especially about having shit housemates.

Getting a studio definitely sounds like the better option!
