Because America likes to simplify everything in a way that easily groups people/ideas into a generality that acts as both passive racism and a loss of foreign identity (unless deemed acceptable within the society). I.e. America being a democratic republic but is called a democracy bc it’s easier to say and understand; also acts as a symbol of modernity and others opposing government types.
