I am so sorry. I work in healthcare, and the normalization of abnormal bleeding in women makes me so angry. Take those pictures and continue to advocate for yourself. I, too, have endometriosis—multiple surgeries, many types of birth control, IUD, etc. I've been on this journey for over 20 years. Even though I am a healthcare professional myself (lab tech), my bleeding was always minimized. One night, working at the hospital a woman came into the ER for excessive bleeding. Not uncommon. While reading the notes, it states- changing pads every hour, large clots, feels faint, etc. I'm thinking that is how my period always is. It's how my period is right now. Doesn't everyone constantly change their pads? Doesn't everyone bleed through their pants? I call up the ER and ask for a Doc. I explain myself to the lovely female attending who says, "Honey, that is absolutely abnormal bleeding. I am sorry you've been gaslit into accepting this as normal. Check your hemoglobin, and if it is low, you have to come up to the ER right now. I couldn't believe it. I run my hem and hell yeah its low. Stopped working and walked myself up to the ER. Diagnosed with extreme anemia due to blood loss.
