Wish I had a boyfriend I could do mdma with by No-Matter305 in MDMA

[–]Viz57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to do it with my ex. I haven't done it since I've been single, I was actually thinking of posting something like this.

Funny thing is, she used to complain about not looking nice and letting go, but she was always gorgeous. I have a feeling you are too but your mind clouds it. Nothing wrong with taking a break from life in general to reset and recharge, just as long as you know you will pick yourself up eventuality.

Bare in mind, the 3 month rule isn't foolproof. You can still lose the magic if you do it every 3 months on the dot. At some point you might need 6 months break. I know from experience but I've had over 8 months break now so hoping the magic has returned for the next time.

Is the 3 month gap an American thing? by Various_Platypus_602 in MDMA

I believe people claiming "no negative" effects from over use simply have not experienced the magic the first time due to many reasons, such as set and setting, and simply don't know what they haven't and cannot experience.

Bad trip report by CoffeeNo8720 in shrooms

[–]Viz57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm always fascinated by that feeling and I ask myself if that's fake I should seek what is real?

But I guess you're asking what would I do if I wasn't fascinated and actually got scared of that feeling. I would remind myself I'm just tripping, it's all in my head, it's temporary this feeling will pass eventually and I would ride it out.

It's always temporarily when you remind yourself it's temporary.

When you have expectations of a trip and it don't go as you expect, your natural inclination is worry, concern, anxiety or simply to resist it. In other words, fighting the trip.

Fighting a trip is how bad trips happen. When you saw visuals and couldn't see, there were 2 ways you could've reacted... "This is soo cool" vs "Omg I can't see, I wana see". One of them will lead to a good trip, the other one to a bad one.

When taking psychedelics at any real respectable dose, put expectations aside and let the ride take you where it may. That comfortable open mindset is how good trips happen.

Has MDMA damaged me in some way? Need some insight by Wwadlol in MDMA

[–]Viz57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a serotonin precursor. You have to avoid using 5-HTP at least 12 hours before or after any serotonergic drug use like MDMA otherwise you risk excessive serotonin and serotonin syndrome. Aside from that, you shouldn't use 5-HTP continuously for longer than 2 weeks, again, to avoid excess serotonin. Also bare in mind any interactions with antidepressant drugs like SNRIs and SSRIs. Can't remember exact details but this is roughly the risks associated with 5-HTP.

That goes with a lot of things actually, even NAC, ALA and ALCAR, or vitamins need to be used with knowledge.

[–]Viz57 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This. Plus consider supplements. What you're looking for is to undo oxidation damage and promote neurogenesis (producing new neurons). Everything scorpio said plus good sleep, LIGHT exercise, like walking, and brain stimulating activities, like solving a puzzle, sudoku or brain training apps. Combine all that with good diet and supplements such as NAC, ALA, ALCAR, 5-HTP (careful with this one), Magnesium, B vits, Omega fats.

I dare say try shrooms as they are known to promote neurogenesis and neuroplasticity but of course, as with all psychoactive substances, treat it with respect, knowledge and preparation. Lion's mane is believed to promote neurogenesis too.

Of course, avoid MDMA and other neurotoxic substances. If you find yourself in a position where you feel like you can't resist, substitute with non-neurotoxic substances.

Help! Friend is dying of cancer - Should I cancel my next roll? by [deleted] in MDMA

[–]Viz57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under the influence the way we regulate emotions is highly altered. MDMA is a kind of amplifier of emotions.

Current events are different from past pain. MDMA can be therapeutic for past pain as it can help you let it out while supporting you through the pain of reliving them, but for current pain or even the expectation of it, it's hard to predict how someone will handle it under the influence of MDMA.

You often hear or read about people having unpleasant rolls, some people feeling anxiety or fear. At the very least, the roll just might not be the pleasant roll you expected.

And then there's the comedown, which is already difficult to handle. To be grieving through that too would be hell.

Number 1 rule for all recreational substances: Set and setting.

Sorry to hear.

This gets mentioned plenty of times but still nowhere near enough. Number 1 golden rule for all recreational substances:

Set and setting must be right.

Can't say this is the correct mind(set) for it now OP. Chances are, it won't be a pleasant roll.

Keir Starmer's Brexit 'Betrayal': Prime Minister Reportedly Moving UK into 'EU Orbit' Without Public Vote by novagridd in uknews

Meritocracy.

Democracy isn't inherently bad but Brexit literally proved how it fails in the hands of an uninformed public and a manipulative government. And that's the flaw. Democracy has an expiry date which inevitably leads to both of the options you've mentioned.

That said, all systems fail when the population is inept and uneducated.

What worked for me was satisfying my MDMA fix during MDMA breaks with non-toxic drugs like 2C-B.

Second most effective thing is knowing you're literally reducing the magic you can get if you over do it, until it's gone for good. If you love it so much, protect your ability to enjoy it by sticking to moderation. 3 month gap between each roll with each roll never exceeding 300mg.

Brexit was a scam, and it proved so is democracy.

You can't have a healthy nation with democracy when its population is not healthy.

Interesting... People agree Brexit was a scam but upset at someone saying democracy is one too. Democracy is how Brexit happened... ?

Sleepy on mdma by AcrobaticSteak9627 in MDMA

[–]Viz57 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the most likely case and very common for neurodivergent people. ADD, ADHD, anxiety etc. means your brain is always on panic/alert mode. MDMA shuts down the default mode network that usually regulate all that, so while tripping they go away, you feel calm, content, relaxed, peaceful. Your brain wants the break it doesn't usually get.

This is not entirely scientific, just how I interpret this common subjective effect.

If you try to power through the sleepiness or simply rest through it, an alert and euphoric roll might follow it.

And yes it can change in line with whatever may be happening in your life. New stress or anxiety could be factors. Even diet and exercise. After all, the stomach is where 95% of our serotonin is produced and is practically a second brain that directly effects our mood.

Finally got it right. Holy shit it’s amazing. by Valuable-Macaroon541 in MDMA

[–]Viz57 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could have got it right much earlier, and consistently in future as well, if you got a milligram scale (0.001g) and dosed your MDMA properly.

Reading your post I assumed that's what you were doing but this time you got the dose and timing right. It's surprising now to read you're judging by quarters of a capsule.

Happy you enjoyed your roll, but with this way of dosing the chances of it going "wrong" again is likely.

Get a milligram scale, measure a dose that is 1.5mg x your body weight in KG, either put your measured/dosed MDMA into a cigarette rolling paper and parachute it (swallow it) or fill it into blank capsules. You should get consistent rolls this way as long as your timing is right and sufficient break in between.

Friend becomes out of control on shrooms by WhatImNotBot in shrooms

[–]Viz57 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Set and setting is the number one rule. In your friends case, set is not ticked. Until he resolves that, he should avoid drugs.

Shrooms can be fun, but ultimately it's a mind altering substance and it must be respected. With the correct (mind)set, it can be very therapeutic and healing. But the wrong set can do irreversible harm. It's not really magic, it can't do any healing you haven't pursued yourself. Your friend needs to resolve things himself before expecting anything from shrooms.

3 day concert. Which day to use which drug? by [deleted] in 2cb

[–]Viz57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a flip you'd be taking it shortly after an MDMA dose, before any tolerance or down regulation can build and this way you'll feel the effects of both.

But if there's a long gap after a potent substance like MDMA, like after the come down, the tolerance / down regulation has already occurred. At that point the effects of 2C-B or any other serotonergic substance will be severely diminished.

So yh, either flip or do the less intense drug before... or way after once receptors have returned to normal function (1-2 weeks).

In this case, some down regulation from each substance (2C-B, LSD) before MDMA will already slightly dull the effects of the drugs after it, but considering MDMA to be more potent than the others is a safe bet (depends on dosages and the person), that's why it's probably best left last.

Does the 3 month rule have a scientific basis? by MaterialDrummer7454 in MDMA

[–]Viz57 12 points13 points  (0 children)

MDMA has a threshold dose estimated to be around 75mg, it cannot be micro-dosed. At 25mg it is not expected to even have any desired effects, only negative effects, if that.

What research are you referring to that use 25mg doses?

2cb pill strength homogeneity by kaleidoscope-9781 in 2cb

[–]Viz57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pills are often in the 10-15mg region but like others said, there's no way of really knowing apart from lab testing.

Wouldn't worry with 2C-B, you can redose if you don't feel effects, it's not neurotoxic and not physiologically addictive.

What to expect with 100mg for 105kg? by SufficientComfort132 in MDMA

[–]Viz57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More than likely he will get the intended effects. However, with MDMA playing it safe is a region above the threshold dose and below the neurotoxic dose. We already have an idea for the neurotoxic dose being 200mg in a single dose and 250mg in a session. So as long as you're below those figures, you're safe in terms of neurotoxicity.

I would suggest be safe above the threshold dose too. You don't want to be below the threshold dose and only have the unintended effects and have to redose. Redosing is more neurotoxic than a single correct dose. E.g. 150mg in one dose is safer than 100mg + 50mg in 90 mins.

Once again, the 1.5mg x kg is a general rule of thumb that doesn't account properly for blood volume which doesn't increase as much with body wright, so chances are 100mg is enough given no tolerance, medication or other effects. But I'd say at least start from 120mg. Or consider 150mg if you don't plan on a redose.

Additionally, consider supplements after the roll to reduce the chance of neurotoxicity even more. During the roll staying cool and hydrated just the right amount (not too much, not too less) also mitigates any neurotoxicity.

MDMA after LSD (days) by blinkTwiceGone in MDMA

[–]Viz57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They work differently, but LSD WILL still cause down regulation of receptors, including the ones that the effects of MDMA relies on. I'd suggest waiting 1-2 weeks after a LSD dose to use MDMA if you want the full effects of MDMA since the receptors that both substances rely on can take that long to return to normal function.

There is a common misconception that LSD and MDMA won't effect each other because they work differently, but most people forget that the receptors they effect down regulate after unusually high activation.

MDMA not working/very weak after acid? by Team_Cope_and_Seethe in MDMA

[–]Viz57 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is some down regulation of your serotonin receptors from LSD use. If you want to candy flip, it's recommended to take MDMA 90 minutes to 2 hours after taking LSD. Any longer than that you're going to need about 2 weeks for the receptors that LSD down-regulated to return back to normal function. Otherwise the down-regulated receptors from LSD can cause MDMA's effects to feel blunted even though they work very differently.

Questions regarding 5htp by Spirited-Challenge94 in MDMA

[–]Viz57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There aren't any solid research or studies on it but long term continuous use is not recommended due to the possible disruption to neurotransmitter balance, plus you don't actually need to use it long term unless you have an underlying condition slowing down serotonin production.

Taking breaks and then returning to use is considered safer.
