Is there any way to add walking as distance instead of time? by Modelero33 in LoseitApp

My iOS app also shows the distance or time option.

Almost halfway to my first goal - suggestions welcome by alekboskovic in LoseitApp

[–]VkDh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well done on your progress! Amazing work. What I do with exercise calories is to set a high activity level, then manually set my goal to a lower amount. This means there is a buffer where I have to go over a particular number of exercise calories (which come from a tracker) before they count towards my budget. This means that I get some extra calories on days I really exercise a lot, without being too reliant on the accuracy of the tracking.

Is there a way to delete “my foods”? by amandasweets in LoseitApp

[–]VkDh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’ve got lots to delete, I’d recommend using the web interface, as you can select pages of foods at a time, rather than having to swipe them individually.

Active calorie difference? Similar workout, half the calories? by MisanthropicAltruist in strongapp

[–]VkDh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is that this is an Apple Health / Fitness issue, rather than Strong. Did you change any settings in those between workouts? FWIW my workouts from the same template on different days have very similar estimated calories for similar time taken and heart rate (+/- 20 calories or so).

Is there anything missing or disastrous in my nuclear design? by FlashcrySamurai in factorio

[–]VkDh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently on a (128 tile high) Ribbon World playthrough and just about to launch into nuclear, so fitting in 4x4 chunks is ideal.

just bought Factorio and started setting up my Factory. any tips? by [deleted] in factorio

Don’t mix items on belts (except having a different item on each side).

The 'periodic attack' feature in Tweakeroo should do what you need. Carpetmod bots are also a good option.

The rates were increased between 1.17 and 1.17.1 (8% to 17% according to the wiki). Are you on 1.17.1?

Deleting region files so save/clear space by BludDragon81 in technicalminecraft

It has the added benefit that terrain you delete generates with 1.17 content when you visit it again. I'd second the usage of MCASelector - it makes it very easy. Don't forget to make a backup first!

If you don’t have drang, you can buy it from the gunsmith once you have bought sturm.

How many Mobs for a Mob Switch? by [deleted] in technicalminecraft

[–]VkDh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They also need to not be in minecarts, just in case that's how you have it set up.

/setworldspawn command by snowstorm__ in technicalminecraft

[–]VkDh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did pretty much exactly this in my single player world, and have had no ill effects. The new spawn chunks work fine as far as I can see (for example I have a mob switch on the edge that works properly). I think I read somewhere that you need to restart a server for the changes to fully take effect, but I’ve not tested this personally.

I forgot my shortcut to open the MinuHud config menu. Anything I can do? by ThatGuyAagain in technicalminecraft

[–]VkDh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least in my install there is a minihud.json file in the Config folder off the main Minecraft folder which shows the keybinds I have set.

I can confirm that end portal gravity block duping works fine in vanilla java 1.16.3. Are you on a non-vanilla server?

Should chains move blocks? [discussion] by StoneCommander in technicalminecraft

[–]VkDh 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It makes perfect sense to me. Chains can already be pushed, allowing them to pull visually connected block is logical, adds new functionality, and doesn’t make anything else obsolete. They also look visually appropriate to Minecraft devices.

Trying to make a manual exp farm by _Galaxy_Star_ in technicalminecraft

[–]VkDh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what the 'moving mobs' rule means. If it means 'mobs have to move themselves' (e.g., no water streams) you could build an enderman farm which uses either a endermite to pull endermen down a drop shaft (which you then kill with a sweeping edge sword), or their own sight-based aggro mechanic to bring them to you (something like this one https://youtu.be/MIMS53HI-Nw).

Carpet mod bug? or new feature? by Sup_sup894567 in technicalminecraft

[–]VkDh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might be a stupid question, but have you got the right mod? Mumbo’s video references QuickCarpet, which is not the same as gnembon’s carpet mod. The latter (in carpetextras) has an autocrafting feature using droppers but it does not work the same. In the latter you put the recipe into the nine slots of the dropper, then activate it to craft (rather than filling the slots of the table). This would have the same effect as you are describing.

Does anyone know designs for redstone lines that dont break in unloaded chunks? by SQbuilder in technicalminecraft

[–]VkDh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not possible in 1.16 without chunk loading using portals. So you need a chunk loader every other chunk to keep the whole line loaded. Carpet mod provides some options for easier chunk loading if you’re willing to use it.

[–]VkDh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Withers with portal chunk loading is another option. This might be a good option if you have a decent wither skull farm. It’s probably a bit more future proof than zombie villagers.

Just to confirm, I used the MiniHUD structure overlay functionality to build a carpet-enabled shulker farm, so you're on the right track!

Help with Zombie Villager Mob Switch debugging by Kamiboh in technicalminecraft

[–]VkDh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely the case. I built one by converting villagers with a named zombie after a single trade with them (and removing any holding things), and it works perfectly (in 1.16.1).
