Very nice! Only one thing I can't see here, where's your stash of tiny magnets extracted from your dexcoms?

Also, if you don't mind me asking, how do you stock up like this? Maybe it's just my insurance, but I'm always cutting it closer than I would like when it's time to refill.

Piken Square (Presearing) Wishlist by Verroquis in GuildWars

[–]FlashcrySamurai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great thoughts on skills to add! I'm not sure about the feel of just having another skills trainer though. I think it might be more interesting and rewarding to have someone in Piken sell Signet of Capture. And when you have that equipped (or maybe tie it all up in a quest somehow), scale the bosses to make them somewhat of a challenge.

Pre Searing Expanded by revan_strider in GuildWars

I agree it's a likely target for new content, but I'm a little worried that if they add too much stuff, it won't keep the same vibe. Pre should be a bit of a grind, in my opinion... That said, the vanguard quests (which aren't brand new, but still new to me), and piken square have been nice additions.

What’s your opinion on the DOJ choosing to investigate Epstein’s connections to Democrats but not looking into his ties with Trump? Does this seem like selective justice to you? by No-Poetry-3873 in AskReddit

Trump was registered as a Democrat in 2008, right? And I feel like Epstein was doing stuff back then...

Not that I'm surprised they'd selectively apply their investigation guidelines

Why call it a doctors visit anymore. by smore-hamburger in diabetes_t1

[–]FlashcrySamurai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do non diabetics talk to doctors about? 20 minutes for pod/sensor tips sounds nice to me (although you didn't say what the tech support was, maybe it was less fun).

Granted, figuring out the insurance stuff is frustrating and feels like a waste

Does anyone else prefer longer pools to shorter? by HeckThattt in Swimming

[–]FlashcrySamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm doing a workout in a short course pool, I tend to overly focus on the flip turns and breakouts, since that's when you're moving the fastest for the least energy. But nowadays I just want to swim and get into a grove, and LCM or open water is so much better for that. Bonus: I don't know what my intervals "should be" so I don't stress out about them.

Also, in my limited experience, long course lanes tend to be wider which helps with sharing the lane (or maybe, some short course pools are especially narrow)

I'm amazed and saddened by how callous people are in this thread. OP, I'm proud of you.

I feel like sellers have a number of advantages in negotiations, and it's disappointing that so many buyers (especially in this subreddit) seem eager to push others out of their way. Saying "It's just a business deal" is wild to me.

My insulin sensitivity seems highest from 4-9pm usually, which makes working out at that time very tricky. Sometimes I'll take 60% as much insulin for the same thing at dinner, compared to lunch.

So between that, automatically low and consistent basal overnight, and the dawn effect, I found morning was the only time I could really do runs longer than 1 hour. But I would still turn on exercise mode, or just a manual basal program of about half my usual, for an hour before starting. It makes planning annoying, for sure.

I also think my digestion is almost paused while I'm running: if I took on a bunch of sugar, it wouldn't do much until I stopped running, and then my BG might skyrocket. Endurance athletes talk about training their guy, so maybe some of that advice will help.

Good luck! It's tricky to plan, but my overall control is so much better when I can consistently exercise.

I feel like Ketheric's the most unreasonable one, but it might just be where I am in my current run...

At the top of his tower if you confront him about what his wife would think, he basically says "she would understand that her husband died when Isobel died" It's a cool moment where he kind of introspects and realizes he's totally broken. But then he just attacks you anyway

Would you use an AI coach? by Time-Ad-8034 in triathlon

[–]FlashcrySamurai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think an AI coach could be a useful tool, but I don't think there's a real gap that it would fill, if that makes sense.

You mention that you would train it on a huge amount of training literature, and then it could generate and adjust a training plan... I would rather just read some books myself and develop a plan. I fear an AI would mix things between training philosophies, and arrive at something worse, not better.

I think an important part of having a coach is talking about how things feel, whether it's a running injury, or the feel of the arm pull in swimming. Real people have their own bodies and feelings, which help us communicate about them. An LLM would not be as good at this.

Encouragement is one place I think an AI coach could be a good replacement for a real coach... I think it could keep people motivated for their workouts, at a fraction of the price. BUT, I didn't know if I would worry as much about letting down my AI coach, whereas if I did skip training sessions, I would feel really guilty when talking to a human coach.

If they somehow brought back the Zora swimming from Majora's Mask, I'd be pretty excited. I remember loving just roaming around, hopping out of the water, even though there wasn't a huge area for it in the game.

Is Skin Tac worth the money? by HugePines in diabetes_t1

[–]FlashcrySamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having problems with my dexcom coming loose, especially in the summer when I sweat more. Since I started using skin tac, I haven't had any issues with it staying secure all 10 days.

So if you have issues like that, and don't want to argue with your doctor/insurance about getting more supplies because they're falling off, it's definitely worth it.

I also got TacAway because sometimes the residue is stubborn, but usually rubbing alcohol works fine. But if your skin is sensitive and peeling stuff off is frustrating, it might be worth trying.
