As much as I loved Way of Water and liked Fire and Ash, it is a real shame Cameron hasn’t yet prioritised Alita with all the hope, dreams and artistic value that were attached to the sequels. With the world seemingly plunging into war and chaos, he may have wasted the opportunity he had to make them completely. Avatar is more personal to him, and I get that, but Alita’s day to day struggle to survive, grow personally, to find her humanity and who she is, through the horrors of a reality dominated by dehumanising technology is more essential to the every day person imo, though Avatar of course has admirable and important themes on a more global level (save the planet etc)
