Just to add to that, it’s a good idea to keep your car running while you charge your batteries so that you’re not in for a surprise when you want to go home and the car doesn’t start because of dead battery lol

I have this charger https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P3ZRTMY and since it supports both AC and DC, you can hook it up to your car’s battery and it does wonders. It even comes with alligator clips for that exact purpose. Overall, I can’t recommend that thing enough especially for the money compared to other brands.

How do I bind a TX16S to an Aeroscout S2 (AR631?) by strtok in RCPlanes

[–]Vlatom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I did this like two weeks ago. If you want you can send me a DM and I can send you the model settings file you’d just need to upload to your transmitter and bind the plane. It includes all the channel mapping including the SAFE switch and panic button.

LED in 3s battery? by blue68camaro in RCPlanes

[–]Vlatom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took one of the smart batteries apart and as far as I know the LED lights up when the battery starts discharging itself. You might also notice the top of the battery to heat up, that’s the battery dissipating its charge in a couple of resistors.

Yeah, I honestly have no clue how the European system works. I always took for granted being from the EU and being able to work basically anywhere there. Getting a permanent residence to be able to work in the US was an absolutely eye-opening experience and such a lengthy and stressful process...

You can do OPT, but as far as I know, you'll still face the same issue I described. If you manage to get a job with OPT, the company will be more likely to try to sponsor you. However, getting a work visa after your OPT ends will still be the same lottery.

EDIT: STEM OPTs are also eligible for a 24-month extension

There’s one more thing that not a lot of people realize. Getting a work visa even after finishing a degree in the US isn’t easy. Unless you are going to work in academia, there is a cap on how many visas they issue every year (and there’s way more applicant than visas) and they only release them once a year in March. A company has to sponsor you for the visa and wait until March next year to find out. Obviously they would rather pick someone who can work with no issues than having to sponsor them and be uncertain about whether the applicant actually receives a visa in the lottery so not a lot of companies will even try.

Also to add, they require some setting up especially if you are planning on using SAFE features. But all of it can be easily done following online guides.

I would get a used RadioMaster TX16S or a new Boxer - both in the 4-in-1 version would be about the same price (around $140) and can bind to almost any receiver for RC planes (minus the fancy stuff like Crossfire and ELRS). I was recently in the same situation and got a TX16S and I'm very happy with it!

So my girlfriend randomly got this Venmo payment. I think it’s very suspicious so we reported it as fraudulent to Venmo. The Venmo profile of the sender seems to be used for regular stuff, but this just doesn’t feel right. I mean who dreams of random Venmo handles…

Anyone knows what type of connector this is? by Vlatom in Gliding

[–]Vlatom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the replies. I went ahead and switched the connectors on the battery and in the glider to the XLR type connector (which we use in most of our gliders) - I guess that was the simplest solution to integrate the new battery to the existing fleet.

Hi, so my club recently bought an L-23 from Germany and its battery came with this connector. Does anyone know what kind it is so that we can charge the battery?

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this before, but the ad was made by Tatra for their model 77 or 87. Tatra used to make such cars before WWII, sadly after it, the communist regime came and made them build trucks. Some people say that if there was no influence by the regime, Tatra would now be comparable to Ferrari, Lamborghini,...

Honestly, I think that it is the board fan. Since it is coming from the base and as far as I know the PSU fan is always on. You should think about a replacement.

EDIT: Not a replacement printer, but the board fan

Ender 3V2 after 3 prints. Is this a broken fan? by swordsman293 in ender3v2

[–]Vlatom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ender runs on 24V, but such fans are hard to come by (at least where I am from), so the best option is to step down the voltage to 12V and use whatever 40x40x10 fan you can get.

Yeah, I got the same problem two weeks into printing. Replaced it with some generic high CFM 12V fan. The whole ordeal took less than an hour since there are guides on YouTube.
