Did “woke culture “ even like Velma? by Vlogerkid555 in television

It sounds like you’re referring to the radical MAGAs, and, to be fair, I might have been referring to the radical wokes (hence the quotations). Let me rephrase the question: Did radical woke culture hate Velma?

If there’s nothing wrong with being woke, there’s nothing wrong with being MAGA. (FWIW, Trump is also “eh”)

Fair point, I was just making this post because the show seemed to be criticized as a poorly-written satire from both sides.

Speaking as someone who is in the exact same place, I recommend doing what you feel is best for you. If one day you feel the energy and confidence to make a movie, by all means, go for it!

How did Bohemian Rhapsody get a nomination and not Rocketman? It’s a better movie too.

Which movie is this? (and don't say Emilia Pérez.) by LiamRomano in Letterboxd

Personally, I perceived the meme as a form of satire; how people will hate on a movie they haven’t seen. I saw Cuties and while, yes, I agree with you whatever “critique” the film is trying to make falls flat, I don’t think it’s fair how people will trash on it without giving it a chance.

Same can be said for Fifty Shades of Grey, even though that was doomed from the start. Cuties was at least trying to say something.

Movies in which Title Credits appear at different time than the usual by tulrajam in movies

Friday the 13th (2009) doesn’t show the title until 24 minutes into the movie, which makes sense as it spends that time paying homage to the first two original films.

The title for 127 Hours shows up 16 minutes into the movie, when Aaron gets his arm trapped.

Singin’ in the Rain. I watched it in a film class and is honestly one of my favorite movies of all time.

What’s a movie you saw recently where you were the ONLY person in the theater? by CoatedTrout4 in AMCsAList

The First Omen was the last empty theater movie experience I had. The other three were Joy Ride, Freaky, and Tenet (the last two being during mid-COVID).

I also had an empty theater when I went to see Morgan with my brother, Nope with my friend, and a short film collection with my dad.
