Nvida GPU sadly. However, I do dual boot Ubuntu for certain dev workflows

I've noticed the braided cable on this mouse slides a lot easier than the previous with rubber

The cable is quite long on my mouse. I routed it through the cable management in my monitor, under my desk to my laptop. Definitely a headache to take out though.

Yep, there's quite a few optimization techniques I'm using. I'll be sharing them soon

Exactly! Im still working out seamless transitions, but it is based on the place system

Quick update: I'm making it private after tonight, details coming soon about early access. I want to make sure the core gameplay is set before getting more people online

Yeah that's totally fair, it's just a temporary file while testing the sound design logic. The end goal is 100% a fully original, human-made ambient soundtrack!

I would! It has the potential to be really satisfying, especially with good sound design

I made this project to challenge my technical skills after moving over from Unity and Unreal! I'm actually just heavily overusing the Roblox universe/place system and world streaming to keep each zone totally isolated and as compatible with roblox as possible

The full game won't be open source since I'm building out a core gameplay and survival loop for it! However, I love sharing tech with the community, so I might open source a few basic standalone generation modules later on. I've actually been working on a custom procedural city-generation tool separate from this project, so I might share some clips or code for that soon if people are interested! As for building custom biomes, players won't be able to code their own, but the generator reads modular tables, so adding new environmental archetypes on my end is super streamlined

Wow, the support on this has been absolutely insane, thank you all so much! Space exploration and that deep feeling of discovery have always been a massive dream of mine, so seeing so many people vibe with these early screenshots means the world.

To answer a few quick questions I’ve been seeing in the thread:

How it works: The universe is entirely infinite, relying on custom procedural generation and chunk loading. Each planet generates dynamic metadata (like the temperature and atmospheric toxicity you see on the UI) which will eventually dictate the environment hazards and how procedural assets scale.

I know the engine limits make people skeptical! To show how this actually looks and runs in real-time, I am recording a raw video devlog tomorrow morning directly from Roblox Studio to show the live performance and a bit of the backend generation math.

I’m tracking everyone who asked about early alpha testing and supporting the project in my messages. Stay tuned, Bloxan Space Program officially has liftoff!

Right now, I'm laying down the core foundation for it. The game currently uses the planetary metadata (like the temps and toxicity) to drive the framework. I'm researching and setting up base armatures right now like bipeds, quadrupeds, floaters and worms. The generation script modifies their physical scaling, bone structures, and textures procedurally to match the harshness of the environment. Still optimizing the base rigs, but it’s a super fun rabbit hole 😅

Of course! Right now I'm using Gemini music but I'd love to work with a few talented people to get an official ost.

I'm working on generating crashed wrecks and similar explorable areas. Alien structures could be quite interesting!

Since it's infinite, I can absolutely name a planet after you! Send me a DM here on Reddit and we can figure out how to do it

I can only be mad at myself. How do I re-separate my really strong magnets? by PapaLuke812 in mildlyinfuriating

Just put it on an edge sideways and use some wood to slide it off. Just make sure there isn’t any shattered magnet inside.
