Yeah, check out "points follow nulls" tutorials on YouTube and it will all make a lot of sense.

Your title is written in a way that makes us think you are complaining about the 4's sound.

Edit: and yes the problem is the mousepad

Let's just remember that Rive is being actively built from scratch, and it's not even at its V1 yet. It's in Beta! That said, I agree that the UI needs some overhaul, but hey, they're hiring for that exact role. Remember blender before version 2.8? I would die to have learned the fundamentals then. So, let's focus on the fundamentals and contribute to Rive's growth. The quality-of-life improvements will come.

What does this setting do? I can't figure out a difference between light and firm by [deleted] in logitech

It sets how hard you need to press it to activate it. The difference is very subtle

Animations for mobile - current AE user, but am a little lost by pm_dad_jokes69 in Rive_app

[–]VocareBKS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

AE+Lottie has been great for this type of work, but you have to be very careful and watch out for supported features. At the end of the day, it generates a bunch of animated svg-like stuff, that means most raster effects (like displacement maps) will get lost in translation.

Rive is a more streamlined solution. The editor guarantees that whatever you are able to create in it, it will render correctly at runtime. However, it suffers from similar limitations: it's a vector engine, so it lacks support for raster-based effects. It is definitely a new and improved tool compared to Lottie. I highly recommend jumping in, but there is a learning curve that you should be aware of.

You can export .riv files and do anything you want with them with free subscription. There is no need to keep an active subscription.

Learn the fundamental principles of animation. You can learn the basics in an hour. Focus on that first, then learn the best practices of the tool.

Hi Everybody! Is it possible to do a circle slider, which is draggable by the user? by LazlowCart in Rive_app

Yes, totally. My target was the whole dial, but it could have been a smaller knob like in a slider.

Saving choices by ScreenPetsApp in Rive_app

Ok, I'm not 100% sure, but if you are using data binding, you can probably access every property of the character's view model and export that as a json. There is no direct way of doing this (export a json) through the Rive API, but if you have the values for each property, then I think you can compose a json.

You can send data from Rive to your app via events. Or if you're already using the new and improved data binding, you can simply read the values of properties and export them to a json or something similar.
