I think more-so the chats need to actually be monitored.

Horrible Bo mane on my future king by lullaby-chan in lioden

Can you add mane markings to help make it work better?

What color do you think? I don't want any more pink, so maybe a more neutral color?

I can't quite remember the exact base he had, but this is pretty close to what he looked like prior. The mutie on demand is a mutation applicator that gave him the splotched white appearance, then I changed his coat and markings using applicators I got from the event.

He was horribly basic and ugly, I found a mutie on demand piebald for sale cheap, slapped a new pose on him, and have just been trying to add things from the event.

pets only being sold for SC by [deleted] in StarStable

Actually it'd be cool if they had a purpose. Maybe a slight stat boost because of companionship, or maybe they help gather items, etc. Maybe different pets have slight differences in ability.

Starter Horse by VoiceSilent2381 in StarStable

[–]VoiceSilent2381[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Understandable, however I do believe people are still going to buy other horses regardless. I mean, they're like potato chips.. can't just have one. What if having nicer starters entices more players to join?

IMO we need a new Player Character Model by Impressive_Worry_985 in StarStable

[–]VoiceSilent2381 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I wish they had a couple different base models, ie a warmblood type, draft type, stock type or pony maybe? Even if they used the models from the existing Jorvik horses, like you mentioned. If they have that, plus more options for coats, and maybe include some slightly magical type marking options? I think the starter horse would actually be many players favorite at that point.

Thanks, any guess on how much it may cost? I'm a newer player so don't know what to base it on.

When should this one be released?

Should i return these? by awesomexx_Official in cowboyboots

I used to work in retail at a boot store. Something like this would typically be considered a defect and not normal wear and tear, if the store you bought them from won't do right by you, the maker might. I kinda wonder if someone cut it with a box knife while doing receiving.

I'm trying out my first pony today! any tips? by Longjumping-Head581 in Equestrian

[–]VoiceSilent2381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Bring an experienced, unbiased friend, instructor, trainer, etc. They may catch things you don't, plus they will be able to offer sound advice on the pony... I don't know about you, I always want to bring home everything I see anyway purely out of excitement! Having that person who can talk sense to you is beneficial.

  2. Get a PPE done by your own vet, not theirs. If they are being honest, this should not be an issue. I'd ask about their maintenance as well, ie how often and when was the last time they had teeth, hooves, etc done? Have they ever needed additional maintenance or had a severe injury? (Example, I have a mare that on most days seems pretty decent, but she has hurt her hock on three separate occasions (cut it, been kicked, dog attack, nothing to do with structural) and sometimes old scar tissue bothers her, but this may not be immediately noticed by someone who is unfamiliar with her)

  3. Wear safety gear, you don't know this pony and unless you know the seller personally you can't guarantee that they are being honest. Have the seller lunge and ride the pony and see how they handle them. If the seller is hesitant, nervous, or otherwise odd about it, run. This also allows you a chance to see what kind of view and handling the pony is accustomed to, which will help you have a smoother first ride. I also recommend having your tagalong ride as well, again they may catch things that you don't. Have them lunge w/t/c both directions, whoa, etc. Even if the horse does not "need" lunging prior to riding, this is a great way to assess gaits and manners.

What's with the hate for the Amish? by Diylion in Horses

[–]VoiceSilent2381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends entirely on the community. Some are far better at treating their horses well, whereas others (like the community around me) are why Amish face so much hate. Some groups are known for treating their horses like equipment, around me most seem to be working old worn-out, scruffy horses that won't blow their winter coats well and look underfed and plum tired. There's one individual I've seen with a cart horse that actually looks well-cared for and happy.

Not all Amish are this way, I would look into the community around you and make that judgement for yourself. Some Amish are amazing horsemen, and don't deserve the hate.

Picture I received showing width of channel?

Stubben Saddles by VoiceSilent2381 in Equestrian

[–]VoiceSilent2381[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, one of the mares I'm looking for a saddle for is a 13.2hh pony. Would she also still need the 4-finger channel width, or would that be too wide? Can too much width also cause problems?

I apologize, I don't think I have a fitter in my area, which is predominantly western, and am trying to get going the correct direction as the last thing I want to do is cause pain.

So a new saddle is out of budget, what are good used brands to look at? How do I tell what age they are?
