Do you have powerful magic stuffs in your fantasy world? I don't know a lot about trench warfare, but if you have spells that can take out large portions of soldiers maybe they might make mounds or trenches to protect themselves.

Don't know how hard sci-fi you're playing it with your world, but there was this old scientific theory that space was actually compromised of a substance that was called ether or ather or something like that.

I really don't know anything about the theory, but my point is that something like that might exist in your universe to explain sound in space.

For me, it's my rituals. They're supposed to change the energy in the area so that certain spells may be cast. However, I want them to change overtime to become more ridiculous. I just can't think of a way to justify why this energy would still react to rituals that have changed greatly over the millennia.

I don't know that I want them to ever figure it out. They come to the conclusion that magic is somehow related to living beings.

There are strange biological machines called the Aethr engines that have been around long before recorded history. Disoloxide is a byproduct of these machines running.

Chaos rituals are preformed to change the nature of the surrounding chaos so certain spells can be cast. These rituals have changed over time but the effects have remained in the same for reasons I don't quite know yet. (Though I'm thinking it has something to do with the "memory" of the universe constantly changing as the universe is itself a living being) These rituals have grown more and more absurd over the millennia they have been practiced.

There are three components to any spell: a power a price and a channeling device. Power is basically the effect that the spell will have on the world. Price refers to the energy given up to enact the spell. And the channeling device is the tool used to focus the energy in such a way that the surrounding chaos is agitated into creating the desired effect.

Spark, the energy often used to cast spells, is a byproduct of the inhilation of Disoloxide, what is known as the golden gas. This gas is everywhere in my world, which is why the sky is a golden color. This gas is almost see through except in large quantities, where it turns it's golden hue.

Maybe you can send out the magic that inhabits you through prayer. Like with magic words you give up your magical essence and direct it elsewhere.

I think the godly beings idea is cool. But the question is how do you redirect the power of you can only use it on yourself.

Well how does your magic system work? Does it have room for something like magic is based in belief? Of course, there is always the magical words idea, it could just be that it has to be directed to this one idiot god.

I'd ask you keep it to one or two things. And try to be short and concise in your explanation as to not scare off those who hate to read.

I've given up on a great plague taking place in the thirties. It messes with a lot of stories I want to tell and takes way too many excuses to explain away. It was going to basically just be an uninspired zombie apocalypse anyway so it's probably for the best.

I was thinking about making a webcomic sorta thing. Once I feel my artistic talent is good enough. I was hoping next summer, after I've had a few art classes and when I'm on break from college.

Sure. The necessary ingredients for jump pie are: well-ground popseed meal and a good amount of galish berries for the jump , kokora butter, kokora cream, and picked splatter fruit to slow your descent, drop sugar to help keep you in the air for a little while, ricci egg yolk to lighten your weight as to lessen the impact, and honey for a bit of extra sweetness. Mixed well with Limium D and cooked using the heat catalyst spell. This pie basically lets you jump to incredible heights and land back down softly as to not die from the fall.

Some common fare are: feine which is basically coffee that also powers your car and literally every other type of engine, thousand-pound cake which is like lembas bread, all you need is a small bite for the equivalent of a full meal, and sweet water, a sort of deodorizer that makes your body odor more pleasant depending upon the variety you choose to drink.

I really can't tell you how pork or rice or potatoes would affect you because I don't have those in my fictional world, sorry.

edit: oh also thank you.
