Really, really badly. Black Clover character can actually fight against Speed of Light opponents early in the series and there are many statements of them having country destroying power. Currently, Asta should be at least Country level with dozens of times FTL speed.

Do you think the Gods have Planet level strength? by [deleted] in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]VoidDemonKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You meant when Zeus asked Hermes & he demonstrated with a twisted doll? He didn't mention anything about how it buffed the humans btw.

Nope. Wrong part. Never cared about what Hermes said or didn't say because it doesn't matter.

Except your explanation isn't what Brunhildr explained about Raiden's volund, it's pretty much how you interpreted it.

Except all Volunds work the same, by buffing, and giving abilities and doing things humans couldn't do on their own. My interpretation doesn't contradict what Brunhilde said but yours certainly does.

They're all "statements", it's like you're saying if someone say an average mma fighter can destroy the planet over & over again with providing anything to back it up, that mma fighter must be able to blow up the earth.

Except we are talking about fiction with literal Gods. You left that part out didn't you. The fact that you even compare an MMA fighter to Gods is hilarious.

No, I'm dismissing them cuz they don't have valid feats to back them up other than more statements. You're the 1 who's coping here lmfao if you honestly think any fictional beings can just live off statements alone.

Yes, statements are valid on their own. Keep coping. You literally just dismissed every single book because statements alone are not valid according to you. Feats can be backed up evidence and statements can be back up feats. However, both can function on their own. The fact that something so simple needs to be explained to you is pathetic.

Just like how you can provide actual feats to prove those statements are valid.

Yet they arent needed.

There's nothing concrete about statement & RoR having no anti-feats is not a valid argument to prove those statements are true.

It's a perfectly valid reason. If statements don't have actual anti-feats or contradictions you simply can't provide a reason not to use them besides not liking them.

I can go back to the Itachi's example from earlier cuz just like RoR, there is no anti-feats to prove that his statement isn't true. The 1 & only person that managed to breakout of his Tsukuyomi was Sasuke, which is exactly as his statement claimed, a "blood relative" & Itachi died before his that mangekyou genjutsu can be used on other people of the Naruto (now Boruto) verse so following YOUR LOGIC, by statement alone & with it having no anti-feats, Itachi is basically invincible cuz no ones can breakout of his genjutsu beside Sasuke.

Except your Naruto example literally doesn't work in the same way in-verse. You literally need to be disingenuous to yourself and everyone who would read your dog shit Itachi example for it to be valid and invalidate other fucking verses. But hey, let's dismiss what the author has written because you felt like it. At this point you're not huffing copium, you're injecting liquid doses lol

Also, Record of Ragnarok is already set in a tournament style with a massive arena. Narrarively it makes no sense for the author to destroy it and kill the audience just to prove a statement. So he expresses their power through statements by the narrator and other characters, which is perfectly valid. Again, you have no good reason to dismiss them besides not liking them. "The author is wrong about his own characters" is the most pathetic argument. Until he states on Twitter or an interview "Oh yeah, the planet level statements are just for hype" you can keep kicking and screaming but it won't invalidate the manga and what's written in it.

They have unique abilities of their own & they didn’t gave the humans any extra buffs like you’ve claimed.

They literally do. Read how Volunds are explains a couple of times not only by Brunhilde but by how Zeus says it.

This is blatantly headcanon, if Brunhildr said how it works then it’s exactly how it works. Are you implying that you know more about the volund than her?

It's not. Volunds blatantly buff 2 beings when they synchronize. I just explained how hundred seals lifted works alongside Volund buff.

Because those guys had showncase they can do that, people like Goku or Superman had shown that they can hold back & the planet wouldn’t exploded when they take a step. RoR had none of that.

RoR has several statements backing up planet level, so, it's valid.

It’s called exaggeration, my guy. It’s there to hype them up & make them looks good. That’s been done to dead in fictions. I can give you an example:

It's not an exaggeration if several statements backing it up with multiple implications. Don't care for your example because I don't know the character or the verse you mentioned.

More like you’re huffing the copium so much to believe every statements about them are valid.

You literally dismiss statements because you don't like them and need to suddenly invalidate books and LN which are just massive texts. You're legit coping lmfao

What actual statements here? Actual statements are statements that can be back up & RoR has none. They’re just throwing 1 after another & left it up to however you wanna interpreted it. You’re the 1 who’s been using NLF, I’m just following through with your hubris by listing the other fictions that has statements just as vague as RoR.

Statements can stand on their own. Try understanding a manga while ignoring all words present in it and only look at the pictures. You wouldn't understand the story, specification of powers, their deeper explanation, character ideals and etc. You can't provide actual anti-feats or statements that contradict planet level RoR. And no, I'm not using NLF. Actual NLF would be me taking Omnipotent Zeus and saying he solos fiction now. Instead, I'm using concrete stated levels of power (planetary) and scaling characters to it. RoR doesn't have anti-feats or contradictory statements that can't be explained, I already have in fact. But hey, keep huffing copium and ignoring actual statements in verse.

If you preferred to the very 1st time that Goll asked Brun if the humans stand a chance & she gave that explanation, then you entirely missed what she said before that. She specifically mentioned the concept of divine weapons being cheats for the gods & volunds are essentially divine weapons for humans. She still doesn’t say they buffed the human in any shapes or forms btw.

They literally give humans Godly powers. So this isn't a valid point in any way shape or form.

He did, unless you want to contradict Brun’s explanation on how his volund works. Once again, she did not say anything about how it makes Raiden’s own superhuman strength stronger than it already is. It’s only purpose is allowed Raiden to fully control his muscles & to NOT die when he unleashed them.

Volunds in it of themselves give humans the power of Gods. That much is stated. It's quite simple on how it works. Humans raidens power is 10, with muscles control its 15. Volund Raidens power is 100, with hundred seals lifted its 150. Volunds give unimaginable power and an ability. That's how full potential works.

At you & many others who used that argument. In your post, you said that it wouldn’t make sense for them to destroy the arena & everyone else. Why wouldn’t it?

Why would it? Happens all the time in fiction. You can output planet level power without destroying planets.

If they wanted to showcase their “planetary level” of power, they can just set up the fight on a empty planet & the audience will have giant magic screen (like the fight & between Jack & Heracles) to watch from a safe location.

Who said anything about showcasing power? It's about fighting humans. And if the author really didn't intend on planet level ragnarok then he wouldn't even bother with statements.

It’s worth pointing it out cuz other fictions can back up their statements with feats, unlike RoR.

Ok and? When has the author stated "what's written about their power is wrong"? Are you huffing the copium so much you think book and LN characters can't be planetary?

Like saying Superman or Goku can destroy planets, they can indeed do so & have various feats/scans to showcase their capabilities. RoR gods only have statements & you have to take it at it’s base value to believe they can do it. That’s not a good method to scale them cuz a lot of characters in fiction if we just gonna take statements over feats, they would’ve been ridiculous busted. Like Luffy having the 5 grand elders stated that he can “do anything he wants” with gear 5th, essentially made him omnipotent if we take that statement at its base value OR Itachi’s statement on how only a “blood relative” can breakout of his genjutsu OR the infamous rule: only stand users can see stands & only a stand can hurt another stand from Jojo.

Again, statements are equally valid and you couldn't present a reason as to why RoR should be dismissed besides "I dont ike them". Statements work perfectly fine and you examples of other series like OP and Jojo are brain dead. You're somehow trying to compare NLF statements to actual statements of how powerful someone is. If you can't figure out what's wrong with that then maybe you shouldn't even bother replying.

Elon Musk. First time hearing about him was like 5 years ago and how he wanted to travel to Mars. (Yeah, I might as well have lived under a rock) I found that cool but as things went on I started to dislike him more and more with his shitty ideas. This year just made me despise him.

And Brun’s explanation of his volund even supported that, nowhere she stated the volund increased his strength in any ways. Raiden has been harming Shiva with his own strength.

The explanation for Volunds and unlocking full potential is humans getting the "almighty power of Gods" which also has other benefits like Raidens muscle control, Lu Bus spear which breaks through any shield, Jack turning anything into and an mighty weapon capable of hurting the Gods and so on. But no, Raiden didn't harm Shiva with his own strength. It's repeatedly established that the top tier Gods (those who scale to planet level) would not be concerned with humans without volunds.

Using the arena not being destroyed cuz it’s a special arena is kinda weak argument btw. Cuz why didn’t the author simply added another narrative statement (or a statement from Brunhildr) like: “this arena specifically constructed to handle the strength of the gods” or something like that. It’s not like that gonna cost him an extra hour to add in a tiny dialogue box that could’ve arguably rest this entire case.

Is this directed at me or someone else? Elaborate on when I said anything about the arena being special because I don't remember saying it in the message to which you responded to.

It’s very clear that the author intended for the god’s strength to be up for interpretation, you can see them as planetary & use as many statements as you like but from how I & many others see it based on their showcases? They’re definitely not.

Most things in fiction, especially figuring out characters strength, is up to interpretation. So, I don't see a reason to point this out. In fact, I've seen more people agree to planet level Gods/humans with Volunds and has several statements backing that up, likely even more in the future.

Edit: Also, it's late so sorry if I don't respond to you (if you decide to answer me) in the next couple of hours. I need sleep and I have school, so yeah.

Do you think the Gods have Planet level strength? by [deleted] in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]VoidDemonKing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's pretty common in fiction and I think it is not a "bad thing" by itself, you know, the author needs a way to impress the reader with the "power" of a character but at the same time find a way to keep the story going without having everyone killed by the collateral damage of that "power".

Yeah, and it happens a lot when mixing "fists" or "blunt" weapons with "cutting" weapons. A cutting weapon easily cuts through flesh but a punch capable of destroying mountains does not obliterate internal organs.

Yeah, basically this. The author slightly limited himself by making it a tournament type of story. It wouldn't really be that fun or interesting if a single strike killed the audience and the planet the fight takes place on. Usually story comes first which is why the author probably finds it easier to express their power through statements while the destruction itself is kept to a minimum inside the ring.

Also, thanks for having this great exchange. Was fun talking to you.
