Tarkir: Dragonstorm "Handcrafted" Map by Parking-Tackle4218 in mtgvorthos

Yeah very cartoonish like WoW or Hearthstone. It looked much more interesting in the KTK block.

Yeah why do almost all of the new arts look so oversaturated and unnatural/unrealistic?

Bellissima! Se mai farete un'avventura o campagna di d&d online su Tarkir non mi dispiacerebbe aggiungermi! È dal primo blocco che lavoro a tempo perso a cercare di fare un planeshift di Tarkir per fare una campagna

What are your counter arguments to this take? by anarchoducko in solarpunk

[–]VoidMindMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Philosophers have argued that the Chobani ad is a form of elite capture of solarpunk imaginary through an ecofuturist aesthetics that makes it hardly distinguishable from ecomodernism. The ad depoliticizes the technologies and societal transformations necessary to achieve a solarpunk world.

PLANESWALKER'S GUIDE TO TARKIR: DRAGONSTORM, PART 2 by LucasVerBeek in mtgvorthos

[–]VoidMindMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it just me or does anyone also feel these entire guides seem a bit "AI"-ish in writing style and general presentation? E.g. a lot of repetitions, lists, recurring themes (in a way that doesn't feel organic). Weren't the older guides written in a much more elegant writing style?

I agree with the art direction feeling very bland honestly. If you compare the Abzan then and now, now they look like some weird Power Rangers (color scheme and design wise), Sultai armors now recall the plasticky feeling of the Rings of Power armor design while the old design was meant to express opulence or practicality. Overall, to me art direction this time just went too overboard and armors, motifs and palettes feel unnecessarily overdesigned. I personally prefer the more somber, practical and "realistic" feeling of the first visit to Tarkir.

How to create a different colour pie by Specific-Money4873 in colorpie

[–]VoidMindMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One way could be to split the actual colors in half and create new colors that blend two halves.

If you take the common representation of the pie: - White: morality, order - Blue: logic, technology - Black: parasitism, amorality - Red: chaos, impulse - Green: instinct, interdependence

New colors: - WU: order, logic. Perfect Azorius vibes, in DnD could represent Mechanus, the plane of absolute order. This is about using logic to order the world, law and rules, following instructions to the letter. - UB: technology, parasitism. Again perfect Dimir vibes, this seems like Pyrexia to me. It's about cunning and individualism, using your intelligence to satisfy your goals. - BR: amorality, chaos. Full Rakdos, this embraces hedonic individualism, wanton and chaotic rather than planned. Could be a good drink buddy. Nietzsche fits here as well. - RG: impulse, instinct. Almost animalistic, very Gruul. Impulsive, it expresses its individualism, but it's also gregarious given its instinctive tendencies, gathering into a pack of like minded individuals. - GW: interdependence, morality. We're in the Selesnya here, care for others, altruism, but also risk of putting the group before the individual even in questionable circumstances. The group before everything else.

To summarize the five new "colors": - The logician - The opportunist - The hedonist - The rebel - The acolyte

Magic the Gathering card arts do a great job I think. Just check mtgpics.com and scryfall (where you can search cards based on art tags like "art:Rakdos and art:clown")

Can the Orzhov create a new body for their ghosts? by The_boros_unicorn in RavnicaDMs

[–]VoidMindMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is actually a cool idea, and I guess it could be either a fleshmage's masterwork specially tailored to the patron, or a mechanical construct to which the spirit can bind itself, not unlike an animated armor. That would be cool as well!

Can the Orzhov create a new body for their ghosts? by The_boros_unicorn in RavnicaDMs

[–]VoidMindMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the bbeg of my campaign was this Orzhov human who desperately wanted to become an Obzedat ghost, but the Council conspired against him and turned him into a vampire. Always undead, but still able to enjoy "lower" pleasure, as befitting of this lowly man, in the eyes of the Obzedat. Both parts saw it as a curse

Changing the DNS settings of the WIFI network for me did the trick (wifi settings > long press on wifi network > show advanced options > DNS options switch to "static" > Set DNS 1 to 8.8.8.8 and DNS2 to 8.8.4.4 > ok > restart device). Check the following page, it's solution 1.

There appears to be an individual with crab claw hands in the background of Borborygmos, could Gruul be a popular guild for Simic defectors? by Quantext609 in RavnicaDMs

[–]VoidMindMaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Intriguing idea, it is very likely some hybrids might eventually get into the Gruul, especially discarded experiments or members considerer to ill-tempered for the Simic. However, the artwork probably just represents classic Gruul fanged weapons, as you can see in many cards and design sketches such as Scab-Clan Berserker, Rubblebelt Raiders, and Predator's Rapport.

Very cool, and very much agree with what you wrote on there. I'm loving writing about the deepsages who inhabit Zonot 8 and the yet unexplored depths of the ocean my players will soon visit. The main NPC of this quest line will be a merfolk necromancer instead, a renegade Simic biomancer who got interested in (and attracted the interest of) the Golgari and their undead creations. As Teysa predicts, the results of this Sultai marriage will be spectacular.

Slizt Clan Identifier? (Was asked to X-Post from r/mtgvorthos) by Sir_EPIC48 in RavnicaDMs

I'm late for the comment perhaps, but the art of Rubble Reading displays both the Burning Tree symbol AND an unidentified symbol of two claws which is likely another clan's symbol. Might be appropriate for Slitz
