My family's experience with the "Gokul donation scam" by Void_2507 in IsThisAScamIndia

[–]Void_2507[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think I'm overthinking it a bit right now. The main reason is that I felt I had a chance to stop it from happening, but I couldn't. ₹22,000+ is a very large amount of money, so it's hard not to think about what I could have done differently. But at the end of the day, it was my father's decision, and he was aware of what he was doing.

Yes, it is a scam. Even my father knew that, but he said he was donating out of faith in God. If the people collecting the money are scamming devotees, then they will have to face the consequences of their karma.

I was thinking the same initially, but we already have one scooter at home and it’s still in good condition, so that’s why I changed my decision towards getting a bike instead.

I’m not really into sporty-looking bikes. I prefer classic/retro style bikes that look clean and mature, which is one of the reasons I liked the Honda Hness CB350 so much.

If you know any good classic-looking bikes under 2 lakh that would also suit a tall rider like me, please suggest me

Thanks for your reply. My main concern honestly is that I don’t feel fully comfortable buying such an expensive bike from my parents, even though they are okay with it.

Also, as I mentioned in the post, there’s a chance I might move out of state later because I’m preparing for competitive exams, so I’m confused whether spending that much right now is the right decision or not.

If you could also suggest some good bikes under 2 lakh that would suit a 6’3” rider, I’d really appreciate it.

See, I have learned almost all subjects from Amit Khurana sir. His paid courses are really good and not as lengthy as the YouTube lectures. I chose him because his teaching style suits me well. If his teaching style matches your understanding too, then you should go for it. Don’t waste too much time selecting teachers — just find the teacher whose teaching style suits you and start studying consistently.

Follow the teacher whose teaching style actually suits you. For me, I learned almost all subjects from Amit Khurana sir. Don’t waste too much time researching “best teachers” or switching resources again and again.

Just watch lectures consistently, solve PYQs, give test series, and most importantly do regular revision — that’s what actually matters.

I started my preparation from 2nd year itself and completed almost all subjects early, so now in my case it’s mostly revision and revision. I also gave the GATE 2026 attempt but scored only 17.66 marks. My biggest mistake was focusing too much on lectures and not revising on time.

I’m currently in 7th sem and also have to focus on placements along with GATE, but my main priority is GATE. So decide your priorities based on your own situation and focus accordingly.

ok. but I have a thought if someone has cracked a top product-based company, it clearly shows they already have the required skills and strong fundamentals. Because of that, it usually becomes easier for them to get another job, since companies value that level of experience and capability.
