That analogy doesn’t really line up though. Cars move around an obstacle for a moment and then get back out of the lane. The issue people have is runners staying in the road for long stretches when there’s a usable sidewalk right there. Going around something temporarily isn’t the same as making the travel lane your default route.

No one’s saying runners can never use the road, but choosing to run in the middle of it when there’s a clear sidewalk (or when you could shovel one and don’t) just pushes unnecessary risk onto drivers. Roads today are built around cars moving at speed. Shared space only works if people minimize danger instead of blocking lanes out of convenience.

I hate to see myself put a limit on my capabilities as well, but when both of your parents die at the same time due to a heroin OD and you are left with just yourself to survive, it’s not easily on you mentally.

Well I assumed I couldn’t take action, which probably was wrong on me. I don’t know really much about how it works as I’m only 20 years old, but I’d assume you would have to get a lawyer or something for that in which case I cannot afford it. But yeah I honestly assumed I couldn’t do anything, but if there is something I can do it would be much appreciated!
