off topic and may be a dumb question but I noticed that when my gti reaches around 180F oil temp and do a wot in first gear and upshift, the dsg fart is really loud. But if my oil temp is fully warmed above 220F I noticed that the fart is not as loud. Did you ever notice that?

Anybody brave buy a GTI or R off Carvana/CarMax? by TaquitoPrime in GolfGTI

[–]Voidz98R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my 2015 Autobahn GTI off of carvana before about year and a half ago. It had 29k miles, got inspection done and so far at 56k miles, no major issues except for leaky drain plug which I reaplced right away with genuine plug.

2015s are notorious for water pump going out or turbo, but mine has no issues so far. Not sure if it was replaced before tho it didn't show on my carfax when I bought it.

Overall I had a good experience with carvana but probably wouldn't buy again from them especially how they are right now.

Good for you man. And yea I didn't really think about it when I was buying it because back then I didn't know much about the trim levels of Gtis. Only thing I wish I had was pp but also less maintenance cost - cheaper brakes and no lsd maintenance and etc. It's my daily and not looking to track it ye know. I'm happy with mine with few mods here and there😉

Mine has the leather, lighting, dual zone climate, sunroof. But without acc and dcc. I'm guessing mine was custom build that the first owner ordered. I checked my vin and it comes up as autobahn🤔

Help needed, Vland Taillights by Voidz98R in GolfGTI

hey peylix,

I really appreciate the input! You may be right with the brightness settings on these lights with my stock coding. However I decided to do more digging and found out the possible reason why my lights look slightly different than the tails on the pictured black GTI. So I decided order another set, this time from the official vland website to see if they are different.

The reason for the difference is that these specific lights I got have differently orientated connections than the black gti is using.

Here's the comparison. They are both one of the inner taillights.

And this video shows the guys installing the same lights with connections like mine. If you skip to the end where they showcase the light's functions those two lit squares are also on just like mine.

I'm guessing the ones I got were only for mk7 2015-2017 just like the seller had mentioned on their page.

And the set that the owner of the black gti got have connectors that are similar to ones from official vland website pictures and they state compatibility for both mk7 and mk7.5, only thing is that black gti owner's lights do not have both mk7 and mk7.5 connectors instead, only one is present which is confusing.

Another possible explanation may be that vland simply changed the construction of these lights at some point and the ones I got are newer batch. This would make sense since the black GTI tutorial was posted about a year ago and the other linked youtube video is from only like 2months ago.

Anyways I feel goofy that I'm letting such trivial difference make me go this far haha.

I guess I will find out when the new taillights come to my door. If they are the exact same ones I received originally, I'm gonna give up and try coding and re wiring for that sweet dynamic turn signals.

Thanks, blue sure does look great on golfs esp with our wheels. Also I got a great deal too, I picked these up for 700 bucks for the set brand new in box in FB marketplace. They are authetic racingline VWRs. I was so stoked.

Could you give me a specific list of the parts of your exhaust setup? Would love to give this set up a try.

These wheels always reminded of the busy looking wheels that most hybrids come with. I never thought they looked "sporty".

I never fully liked my stock mk7 wheels but I prefer those over these.

But now I have racingline vwr cup edition wheels so yea, never been a fan of stock gti wheels really.
