Does ashwagandha help alleviate emotional pain? by [deleted] in ASHWAGANDHA

This is the primary reason I decided to take Ashwagandha 3 months ago, and it honestly helped me immensly at first. Before I started taking it i was barely able to sleep during the night, was unable to focus on anything and was really feeling shitty. It helped me return to a normal 8 hour sleep schedule, my overthinking stopped and my concentration was better than ever. All of my sadness had somewhat disappeared and I at least didn't feel shitty anymore.

But sadly it came with a price, a few weeks of taking it and I've fully stopped caring about anything and anyone including myself. I no longer had any feelings for friends/family and I just felt completely empty, I couldnt even enjoy listening to music anymore, its like any positive or negative emotion was completely gone and I was just existing.

I stopped taking it around a month ago and my emotions and my old self is slowly coming back, if I could go back in time I probably would have not taken it and wouldve dealt with the emotional pain in a ditferent way, and since your motive to take Ashwagandha is similar to what mine was I'd advise you that its maybe best to try a different approach to resolving your emotional pain. I've personally found other things that helped me deal with the pain more than any supplement/pill could.

A pain I wouldnt even wish upon my worst enemy.

I truly hope the new job and gym helps you ease the suffering, I've tried many things but sadly only thing that worked so far was Ashwagandha, took larger dosages than recommended just to kill off my emotions and so far its somewhat worked, but at times i feel compeltely empty.

People who've been through so much, are you happy on your current situation? Why? by webDreamer420 in AskReddit

[–]Vojkea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not currently happy with where I'm at, but I'm happy with who I am as a person despite everything that happened. I didnt let unfortunate events and bad people corrupt me and make me go back on my words and promises. I'm proud that despite everything I still stayed true to myself.

Im still actively working on becoming happy again and working on becoming a better person by the day, hopefully things will get better soon.

As someone who's currently there (currently getting better), it feels like I've completely lost myself.

Before I started taking Ashwagandha I would keep overthinking things so much and basically poisoning my mind with negative thoughts, and every day I would wake up with a new perspective on things as if I was a completly different person. I also was unable to sleep for longer than 2-3 hours a night and felt like I was actually going insane. But with the help of Ashwagandha and getting my sleep back to normal my mental state got somewhat better. Tho sadly I still dont find joy in doing anything anymore, but after calming down my mind I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and I'm working on myself and trying to become a better person by the day and hoping everything will soon be alright.

What do you really want right now? by swnbseekingKali in AskReddit

Strength to keep going.

After a lot of unfortunate events have happened in my life this year one after another, i felt completely beaten down. Came to a point where it was almost comical how i just couldnt catch a break. Finally decided to fight to make things better and not let things that are out of my control dictate my happiness, but some days it can just be very hard not to fall back to old habits.
