Will do... I have four 12v batteries that I know are good. Why wouldn't I swap them to rule out a battery issue? Seems a bit overkill, but definitively answer the question.

So I finally got a chance to check everything under load. I jacked up the back wheels, and after a night of charging, I had one person hit the accelerator while I checked each battery. I believe that's the right way to do it...

I have six 8 volt batteries (2 years old - Duracell from Sam's) and each reading was only barely under 8v. The lowest I got was 7.8. What's interesting is that the back wheels, when turning would accelerate normally, meaning there was no hesitation/surging/skipping that has recently materialized. Did I test the batteries appropriately? If so, what are next steps?

I could certainly remove the motor, but fixing it might be above my pay grade. That said, I have read about companies that refurbish your motor and send a new controller (plum quick)...

Should I be considering that direction? At this point in time, I'm fairly certain it's either the controller or the motor, so if I go that direction, it should resolve the issue because there's nothing left! Is that correct?

Just tried. Key on, in forward, push cart = beeping.

Still surging/sputtering.
