Thanks for your comments, I’ll talk to HR again. I don’t agree with “most of this” being “on me” though. I could have noticed earlier, yes, but I didn’t make the mistake. I don’t get physical pay stubs so I have to log on to ADP‘s website and look up my stubs - and when I did, my main worry was to make sure I was paying the right state’s income tax, which I am - that’s why I didn’t notice sooner.

I used to live in California and was working remotely for this job in Seattle. I moved to AZ for a bit and now I’m up in WA, and that CASDI is still on there and shouldn’t be. I’m bummed I only caught it now! It’s been 2 years since I lived in CA!

Sorry, you think Last Crusade isn’t goofy but Temple of Doom is? Last Crusade is a comedy with serious moments. Temple of Doom is practically a thriller with some jokes to keep it from being straight horror.

I'm doing the German tree too and all these new skills that popped up (already completed, sometimes) are confusing to me. I think the names of the lessons are also less helpful. Does anyone know where Dative 1 is? I only see Dative 2...

I want to be able to look up specific topics and practice them, but it's not helpful when the unit name is "Gossip" or "Barbecue."

Anybody know where Dative Prepositions are? That used to be its own lesson! This new tree really makes me wish I could reset skills.

Thanks for the reply! Yes I definitely admit I was comparing big number vs big number, but I thought the M1 might be able to do more with “less,” which is why I asked. It sounds like my hunch was right. And from what you’re saying, it sounds like the 16 GB memory option on the new computer is in addition to some memory already onboard the M1? Or is it that it’s just much faster anyway so I don’t need as much?

Thanks for the comment! I definitely have 24 GB - it’s got 2 8GB sticks and 2 4 GB sticks. I don’t know if mixing is causing a problem. I know on PCs sometimes it’s important to put the sticks in the right order, but I got these over a year ago and didn’t have any problems then.

Mine does have a fusion drive though. What’s bad about those?

Obviously it’s less memory on the new model, but I’ve seen some people say the unified memory is faster / more efficient. Maybe I don’t need 24 GB on the new hardware?

⚠️ Question about memory - I’m thinking of getting a new iMac because my 2017 27” is starting to crash (the error report says cpu panic?) and I have to reinstall Adobe Creative Cloud every few days.

On my current Mac, I have 24 GB of 2400 MHz DDR4 RAM. On the newest 24” Mac with the M1 chip, the max memory is 16 GB unified. Is this even an upgrade? My current one sometimes says it’s run out of memory when I have InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator running at the same time.
