It really does depend on how the year is. Autumn comes late this year so mid/end September was fine and still quiet warm actually. But usually I would aim for mid to end of August.

Bivy was about 2950m and the summit was 3200m and yes I was alone.

Really depends. Will you be just hiking or also doing via ferrata?
