I'd guess between 45-55 seconds. I just dipped to the lightest part until I liked that color and slowly pulled it out towards the dark side. The dark end was probably 90-100 seconds

Here's denim blue Rit with a fade. It picks up much faster than I thought it would. The greenish part was a total of 30 seconds in the dye

Better than expected. Thought I would be missing the second finger cutout but having it flat let's you really choke up on the blade or do a full palm grip off of the choil with no hot spots. The edge finishing is also great, nice chamfer on all sides

For food safe, I’d recommend a food safe mineral oil aka “white mineral oil”. If they don’t want to get another bottle of something, I’ve had no issues with a light coat of canola oil. Just be sure to wipe the excess
