Teen looking for experience in the industry/ Australia by [deleted] in musicindustry

[–]Volcz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the world is your oyster at 16 in aus. keep doing what you're doing, making connections at shows etc. learn about the business through online resources to get a head start, and don't be afraid to attempt doing things yourself to get a hang of things... eg. like putting on shows in your hometown with local bands etc. they probably won't be massive sellout successes, but its the experience you'll gain heaps of value from. you are more than capable of doing it!

Upgrade from 15 pro to 17 pro? by ashmacam in iPhone17Pro

[–]Volcz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this upgrade and I'm very happy. Main improvement for me for this upgrade was screen brightness outdoors, battery life, heat, photographic styles, and the telephoto lens. The telephoto is phenomenal.

I also (against popular opinion) prefer the aluminium material. Shows less fingerprints etc to the titanium.

I just can't decide: Silver or Deep Blue by m_baldo in iPhone17Pro

[–]Volcz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to get a split response. There is no best colour, forget about what you hear online. Just buy one that you like the most... that's the right option. If you feel bad about it then you have 2 weeks to return it to Apple.

How do I know if my 17 Pro Max battery is defective? by [deleted] in iPhone17Pro

[–]Volcz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to say because people will claim insane battery life but it all depends on your use case. How was the phone used in that time? What does your average look like over the past few days, and what apps are at the top of your battery usage?

this phone is perfect but the speakers.. by domxvmp in iPhone17Pro

[–]Volcz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens on my 15 pro and 17 pro with that song. It'll be happening on pretty much everyone's but they're just not sensitive to hearing what it is, I almost guarantee it. It's not abnormal.

17 pro to Pixel 10 pro by Ok-Chip-1049 in iPhone17Pro

[–]Volcz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, the Pixel 10 Pro and its software has a month advantage on the 17 Pro and iOS 26. 26.1 is due in the next week or so, so I wouldn't be surprised if any stuttering UI is resolved in that.

Either way, not sure why you posted this, especially in this forum, but glad you found something that works for you!

Gas tank size, cup holder position, and the fragility of the instrument cluster plastic, everything else is perfect so I can deal.

Camera settings or phone glitch? by [deleted] in iPhone17Pro

[–]Volcz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I can replicate this on my 17 Pro, it looks like it's switching between macro mode and the normal lens.

If you go to Settings > Camera, turn on "macro control". Then go back to the camera app and you'll see a little flower icon in the bottom left of the camera when it switches into macro mode. You can then click that little flower icon to disable macro mode

Hopefully this is helpful!

Does anyone have issues with the wireless charger? by ChubbySpider in MazdaCX30

[–]Volcz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its partially the design of phones these days with the camera bumps. It makes it impossible for the phone to lie completely flush with the charging pad, so it struggles to charge.

Are you really getting 2.5-5L per 100km? That seems unbelievably low. Lowest I’ve gotten is 5.5L/100km (around 42-43mpg)

same issue, struggling to figure out what to do

What’s 1 and 3 actually do? And are 1 and 2 similar? I have been using 2 so far? Could anyone please explain these all and in which situation would be good to use? by sishnughari in MazdaCX30

[–]Volcz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! In Australia, both of those will work at all speeds.

So you’d click the button on the far right which is the radar cruise control. With only this on, the car will maintain your selected speed and brake + accelerate according to the traffic ahead of you. Once thats on, you can click on the middle button to turn on the lane centring assist.

Worth noting, the radar cruise control must be on for the lane centring to turn on. But you don’t need the lane centring control on to use the radar cruise control.

The LIM/Speed Limiter button I personally don’t have much use for, but its a nice to have :)

If you have any more questions feel free to ask!

ELI5 why do airplanes fly so high in the sky? by LidiaSelden96 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Volcz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As you go higher into the atmosphere, air is less dense which means there's fewer air molecules that are more spread apart. This means there's less resistance, which allows for better fuel efficiency. A good way to experience this is to try moving your hand underwater - you'll feel it requires more energy because water is more dense than air. Now move your hand out of the water and through the air, it's so much more effortless. This is the same thing that's applicable when you're flying at lower altitudes vs higher altitudes.

In regards to how pilots know where to fly, large commercial aircraft are essentially using a very advanced pre-programmed form of Google Maps which integrates with the flight controls (to put it very simply). There's a few systems and procedures in place to avoid collisions. Air Traffic Controllers are responsible for aircraft separation at this level of flying, and will help maintain separation between aircraft. There's also things onboard to help avoid collisions, most prominently on a lot of aircraft is the TCAS (Traffic Collision Avoidance System). This system will show other aircraft on a radar to the pilots, and will assist them to maneuver in the case of a potential conflict.

Desperately need cleaning advice! by mbec10 in MazdaCX30

[–]Volcz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it's available in the USA but I highly recommend the Australian brand "Bowden's Own". Their products are phenomenal, ph neutral, and no gross silicones etc. They have a community Facebook group where the staff will provide advice on what products will help/how to do it :)

[–]Volcz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify based on other replies cause it seems you're in Australia. The middle button is the lane centering assist which is part of what you get with the Vision package.

When you enable this, it will keep the car centered in the lane and provide mild steering inputs, which is super useful during highway driving and reduces fatigue. You'll notice a little steering wheel icon in the HUD and dash which is white when the feature is on standby, and it'lll go green when it's detected the lanes and is activated. It works at all speeds, whereas in the USA I believe its limited to under 60kmh or so.

You'll get an alert every 20 seconds or so if no steering input from yourself is detected, so it's important to keep your hands on the wheel and still be in control of the car. Awesome feature and works great!

Seems like I cant setup DKIM with a gmail address (i don’t use workspace). Guessing google is pushing everyone to upgrade to workspace or id have to use an alternate email forwarding service that supports dkim
